Thinking Outside the BOX - How to Spot a Profitable Niche

Hello Fellow Warriors.

I have came up with a great Idea on how to spot a hot Niche and Make money from. I originally was going to create a WSO on it but decided to just give it away for free. Basically here is brief overview

Now it's not the traditional method of looking at EBAY, Amazon, Google to find out what the latest trends are

Here is a site that you should check

Do something, Learn something, Share something, Change something - Meetup

Basically it's a site that helps like minded individuals come together to meet and do whatever they want to do.

I researched and studied this site to see how I could "Exploit " it for marketing purposes.

During my research I noticed what the biggest groups are

For example, I live in Metro Atlanta Area and these are the groups ranked from Largest to Smallest

Meetups near Atlanta, Georgia - Meetup

As you can see the top groups are outdoors people and Singles. Also there are plenty of business networking groups as well.

So now you wanna know how to monetize this site?

1. One thing is you get very good back link juice. They allow you to create a custom page to your liking

2. You can Sponsor their meeting. The cost varies. Most of these smaller groups don't even have a sponsor and gladly take your $20 to let their 400 members know about your product or services.

3. Actually go into these meetings and pitch your ideas. I have been in many groups and they allowed me to speak to everyone at one time.

4. Start your OWN meetup group. Now you can do whatever you want to.

5. This is the killer app.. You can actually email all the list members when you join their groups/mailing list.

Here is the signature on the bottom of the email.. I removed the personal emails

Meetup.com is all about arranging face to face meetings of local folks, while a great tool for promoting a local business, it seems limited in it's use for internet marketers.

Their most powerful marketing feature feature may be the find a group index.

There are by the way, groups set up by SEM typs designed to attract businesses who need marketing help, some of the touring gurus show up as guest speakers at these local groups.
For your $12-$15 a month administrator fee you can set up 3 different groups.

It's true that they focus on offline events but they also are a big Web 2.0 Social networking platform. You can really gets cheap advertising there. And your not limited to your geographic region.

I'll have to check into that. Have you monetized it yet? And if so, how well do you do with it?

Hmmm ... with the right group and the right kinda offer ... this could be REALLY interesting. And I'm not thinking local business meetups either. Thanks for sharing!
