Awesome, that sounds like a good feeling to stumble upon that!

If it was a niche im not interested in, i would just outsource the blog writing to someone and keep posting those blogs. obviously that is what is working so go with it but just replace urself in the equation.. also bookmark the blog posts etc and then ping your bookmarks. video posting and bookmarking too.

what is the niche/affiliate program btw if you don't mind me asking? I may do a blog post or two myself LOL

Man, I don't think I'd share it if I were you.

I'd dig in a bit and get a little more knowledge of the niche ... maybe try finding an interest (probably not though). Anyway, I'd take the knowledge I gained and hire an outsourcer to write content and keep it going for a while.

If it bothered me too much for too long and I wanted to dump it ...I'd do more research and find some folks (online AND offline) that'd practically commit murder to get their hands on the site ... and make the highest bidder pay dearly for it.

Invest that money into having some articles/content created for you about the niche, create a site, put an AR on there with a free guide, and sell them what ever product seems to be converting.

yes it would be thin based on a few sales to do an WSO but if this is such a lucrative field then why not pursue it? Why think about doign a WSO right away when you really won't have much more than the niche to offer and no real product (that will come the further you take it and learn about it).

There's no one-size-fits-all answer to this.

If you don't mind working on a topic that you have no interest in, but pays well, you could outsource a fair bit of the "grunt" work - articles, blog posts, etc.

But you still need to deal with that topic to a certain degree.

If you'd rather spend your time working on things you enjoy even if they don't earn as much money per sale, you might be better off to do what you like and probably have better results in the long-term.

I've had sites in higher paying markets that have looked exciting at first, but after a few months the gloss wore off. In some cases, it got to the point that I never wanted to hear about the topic again

It just wasn't worth the mental energy I had to expend to force myself to get things done.

Another option, if you think you might be able to put up with it for a few months before getting sick of it, you could always build it out, generate traffic and revenue and then sell the site after a few months.

If the payouts are that good, and the affiliate program is something that anyone can sign up for, you wouldn't have any problem selling the site for a decent multiple of the monthly income.

I don't know anything and don't really care anything about most of my niches, but it's not about me. It's about providing products/services that other people want. Outsource it, or hire some people to do the grunt work for you.

If you don't want to pursue the niche because you don't have interest in it just send me a pm with the niche details and forget about it.

Just joking, finding niche like that is great I know because I have a site that I built for a niche like that. It took me a few hours to build the site and very little promotion and for the last 6 months that site has made me arund $1500 - $3000 per month on complete auto pilot.

You should do the same with this niche. Build a site, promote it a bit, let it earn on auto pilot. It's pretty much free money and you can't beat that.

          Cheers

One of my strongest suits is research, I would love to share any information I find with you and help you market this more efficiently. Not having the knowladge to promote a product you could make a ton of money at is a shame. I might even use the research to create you a sales page to really step things up a notch.

Oh jeeze my man. I would get crazy busy... I would create as much content as I could around whatever topic this affiliate program is in, and I would plaster content everywhere.

I'd also do some videos on the topic... If it's a topic you can show how to do something in, I would crank videos out and point them to my affy link for this program.

And another thing you could do is create a product on this topic, have it as a VERY low end product, and those people who buy, I would use my affy link for this product in my backend.

I would have an affiliate program for my lowend product to get people promoting and getting as many people as possible in front of my affy link for this product. I'd give 100% commission or more too. Who cares about the front end... Your backend would make you a killing!

There's SOOOOO much you can do...

If you know nothing about the niche, then you need to start educating yourself, or finding someone who knows about the niche, and getting them to do the content creation for you.

    Just a few thoughts...

Naaaa.... I'd rather outsource it all, and keep more of the money which is what you should do too.

I'd also keep my lips tight about the affy program and the niche. No WSO about it, and I wouldn't tell people about it at all... Keep it to yourself. Maybe in a few months you an do a case study on what you've done, and give it away as a free WSO to build your list. If you can still do that. Haven't read the WSO rules lately.

Wow that really is a great problem to have!

One thing you might want to consider is creating a small site targeting that same niche, and selling it for 10x+ what it earns, since the niche itself is not interesting to you?

Perhaps that way someone who is more interested in it than yourself can take it and expand, and you will have been rewarded for your work. Just a thought.

At any rate, congratulations on your success!

I would outsource articles and start pumping them out and expanding your list.

Another thought is do a Google search for the niche keywords + PLR (keyword plr) and see if there are any articles, ebooks et al available to seed your blogs.

As other posters have said, SCALE it up. You have found something and you gotta go after it while it is hot.

Also, depending on the niche, I would consider setting up an AutoBlog (separate from your main blog) and start cranking out the blog entries automatically to drive traffic to your affiliate program. I have found that I can do well in a niche attacking from multiple angles. Have a quality, unique, authority blog as well as hit the niche with a decent autoblog, using both to build your list in that niche.

    Good luck!

      I would agree here.

We all have bills to pay and mortgages to pay.

Who cares if you do not like the niche. You should be working less and earning more. Obviously, you hit the right button somewhere.

And if this is bringing in money, then why quit now....

I just hope that you have been testing and tracking how you got that sale. If you do know, just upscale it, and do it more frequently....and bob is your uncle.

It totally depends on how much you value “caring” about your niche.
It looks like you’re off to a great start here – but if you won’t be happy working within a niche you aren’t interested in, then I say dump it.
If you don’t care that much and can be happy just making money without having a vested interest in the niche, then definitely keep to it – and, as others have said, outsource the boring stuff
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[3028084].message }}
  • Personally I would use the money to reinvest into your business. CONGRATS!

Books for understanding the subject very well if you intend to do it yourself, as you should, since niche seems quite profitable. If not, hiring someone to do absolutely everything in regards to content creation if comfortable financially would be ideal. Find the best keywords for the affiliate program and target the easier keywords and then scale to harder keywords by publishing more content online.

      Its a start

Go to fiverr or anywhere and get some articles written if you can't do it yourself. You don't have to let everyone who asks know what you are targeting.

A day or two of research on your own should give you enough to write a few intelligent articles and link back to your site. Good luck and congratulations on this.

Well, I don't see how you can't be interested in a niche that makes you $700 per sale. I'd say you start hanging out in the niche forums and start reading what people have to say about it. I think you will gain enough knowledge eventually to just write a post in 15 minutes whenever you want. Or, if you absolutely cannot find a way to get yourself interested in the niche, then you can always outsource everything.

PS:I'd also like to know the niche, if you don't mind PMing me.

So you made a WHOPPING TWO blog posts, and banked MORE THAN $1,000?

    Hmmm...

Stop worrying about what you can do to make money!

    You already have the answer.

Make another blog post similar to the ones you've already made.

You had enough info to make those posts and whatever style you used caused people to buy - REPEAT.

If you are expressing things from a less-than expert opinion, it must be working, right?

As others have said, you could outsource having some content created, but make it "Feel" like your two original posts - they sold people, so keep it up.

    Congrats!

As it turns out, he did reveal the niche in a separate thread here three days earlier.

What's interesting is that thread got zero replies and only 50 views, whereas this thread has had nearly 60 replies and over 800 views!

First let me say a big congrats on your discovery!

Next, all I can say is that if I made a blog post that netted me $700 for one sale then i would be writing 10-20 blog post per day lol.

Better yet, do you even realize how many articles you could outsource from the profits you made?

The best way to grow your business is to re-invest.

So stop worrying about not knowledgeable about the niche and pay the experts to do it while you bank.

Also, I think you should backlink the heck out of those blog post and get them ranked. Just imaging making one sale per day from that one niche, that's over $700 x 30 = $21K per month so you need to get to work now!

I wanted to bring up one point. A lot of people are suggesting that you outsource the content. Depending on the niche, you may not just be able to hire a cheap content writer and get any sort of quality articles. You should take your time to find a writer who is fairly familiar with the topic. Now, I don't know what niche this is, but not all niches are something where you can just do a bit of research and knock out an article. Some require a certain level of finesse.

    Love,

In this scenario, what you want to do is use OPC (other people's content), since it sounds like you know very little about the niche and have very little interest in delving into it.

Outsourcing would be the key here to get tons of content for your blog posts, articles, short reports and also email autoresponder messages.

In addition, if you can find good PLR for this niche, I'd repurpose it into videos and audios and blast them out all over the internet. The more you can put out there, the more traffic you'll be getting to your site. It may take some initial work and effort, but I think the payoff will be totally worth it, especially since you seem to have found a fairly high-ticket affiliate product that converts well on the back end.

It's not a must to be knowledgeable abt a product, most of us promote stuffs we don't even a clue of anyway. Your lack of knowledge as it were has fetched you some cool $700 anyway. So the best thing to do is to take some cut out of the commissions and do some outsourcing. You won't regret you did.

Creating a whole lot more content and blog posts is not necessarily going to earn you a whole lot more money. There may only be a small audience for your niche and no competition. So those few people looking for whatever this is have easily found your blog posts in the search engine. You might want to try writing a few more posts but I wouldn't be expecting $500 per blog post like you have already achieved. You might get lucky but I'm guessing it's a tiny niche at that price.

Your experience is encouraging for those of us who don't get this kind of return on a blog post! Looking forward to more info. Thanks

If I made that kind of money from a niche I was not interested in, I'd get interested in it pretty quick and get knowledgeable about it and make as much money from it as possible.

Congratz! I would visit related forums, post in a few threads and look for people who would be willing to write articles for me.

Then do some article marketing and blog posting with them.

    That's awesome!
    $700 from one sale is crazy.. Don't give out the niche to too many people (;

Wow, that is a jewel you just discovered, congrats. It is very rare to find such profitable niches. Like others have said here, outsource the the job, multiply the process, rinse and repeat and let the money flow in.

      Great catch JD!

Perhaps it wasn't intentional, but we've all been part of a pretty telling split test. There's an excellent marketing lesson here.
The lesson is, the OP used the main forum to attract/recruit affiliates to the affiliate program he has been touting.

It is a "Two Tier" affiliate program that essentially pays the OP or anyone for that matter to recruit affiliates. The OP posted the two threads and the free WSO in hopes of recruiting new affiliates under his affiliate ID.

He could have easily said that it is a Forex training product and the company is Profitsrun [dot] com. Why two threads and free WSO? Things that make you go, hmmm... Why not just come out and say, [in the appropriate Sub Forum of course] "Hey guys and gals, I'm recruiting affiliates for a great affiliate program in the Foreign Exchange niche."

Paul, there is no question, the OP did split testing. The first thread netted him no takers so he started another thread and then a free WSO? I wonder is Profits Run teaching their affiliates these bait and switch forum tactics.

Contrary to the title of this thread, I think he knew exactly what he was doing. Forex is nothing new and has been around for ages. Hopefully he will have convinced some of you to become affiliates for him - smart move.
