    Please don't spam...

Spamming is not a fair practice in this part of the world.

Your customers will hate you for it.

Invest the $20-$100 in a constant contact account. Send a weekly email for four weeks and see what your return is. If it is not there, then cancel the account.

Mail chimp offers a "Forever Free" account with a 500 address limit. (They hope to capture small business who will be growing into paid accounts)
These mail services have procedures for transferring in mail lists, at worst they will have to re-opt-in which will lose a certain number of subscribers.

Although I am not completely sure what you mean in the OP, I assume that you have a list of customer e-mails but no way of mass e-mailing them apart from one by one. Is that correct?

If, indeed they are proper customers of yours then they should be counted as opt-ins and, providing you make sure that you add the regulation unsubscribe details and your full address on the bottom there shouldn't be a spam issue.

The issue you will have, however is finding a mail/autoresponder service that will allow you to import them without a further verification opt-in.

As far as I know there are only two options:

    1. Imnica Mail. You have to raise a support ticket and request the impoting of your list but they will do it for you and their general price list is reasonable.

    2. Free option is to set up PHPList on your hosting (usually installed with Fantastico). This is very capable but the downside is that on shared hosting servers, you will have to choke your mail outs to 150 - 200 per hour. So with a big list it takes some time to process each mail.

If you're searching for a paid option, the best service I can think of, will be iContact. You are able to import contacts from your current manual list, to iContact with ease. Also, it doesn't forced you to ask your email list to opt-in again, to stay in your list.

The above information is all good, provided that you're not getting your email list using spammy methods.

They are probably rejected because they aren't good. Now you have a leaner but better client list to build on.

Are you sure that removed contacts were useless and none of important email address lost that way?

Well, I personally would try Traffic Wave for 30 days free and then go on Fiverr and post some gigs and earn the money to cover the cost till you have more money coming in - it only takes some imagination to come up with something to do for $5.00 and they do pay and a hot site right now

How can you say you have a large list of customers then in the next breath say you dont have any money to pay for an autoresponder service?

It doesnt make sense, either you have a large list of CUSTOMERS which means you made money or you dont

I found that Trafficwave is pretty good.

They offer a free 30 day trial and you
don't have to enter any credit card
information. So far I haven't had any
    problems with their service.
