Need opinions on proper way to sell my digital product & it's website

Hello All,

I have an ebook that I wrote and I currently sell it on Clickbank, eBay, and the Amazon Kindle store. Lately, I have been considering selling it and the accompanying website but I am unsure if I can due to legalities.

Since the ebook was written by me, and is in my Clickbank account, is it even legal or against Clickbank's TOS to resell the rights to someone else? Would the buyer be able to just add it to their Clickbank account (if desired) once I remove it from mine?

I'm also unsure how selling the book would work with the Kindle Store either since it is technically published with an Amazon ASIN number.

One other question would be, since I technically wrote the ebook, should I or would I want to keep the book with myself as the author? If someone buys and book and site they may want to change the author to themselves though.

Any advice from someone that has been in this situation would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance Warriors!

    Bump - 13 days.

Has anyone had any experience with selling a branded digital product that with yourself listed as the author?

  • If the product is good you should not be selling it with resell rights as it sounds as if you are suggesting this. As far as I am aware you can list the product at clickbank and at other similar sites such as paydotcom, but if you are still concerned contact your account manager at click bank,

Thanks for the reply but I think I may have misspoken in my original post. I wrote an ebook that is currently being sold online. It only makes about $250-$300 a month. I am thinking about selling it because I want to move on away from it.

My name is on the book as the author, so my real question is, Can I sell off the digital product / book (not copies of the book, but the product itself) along with its website to another internet marketer? Basically, I want no more affiliation with the product at all.

I was just curious if someone has sold off a digital product that they created to someone else and just removed themselves from the equation.

      Thanks,
      -Tim

I'd keep your name on it. Just for branding purposes.
