I am coming across a lot of website/presentations that use 3d characters like the one i pasted below.

What are they called??

Are they available for free?? Where can I get these images from?? Preferably in a pack.

You can get them at many of the larger stock photo sites like istockphoto.com

There are figures like that at Big Stock Photo, just search for 3d characters.

  Speaking of 3d images, has anyone heard of or used 3dvia.com? Came across it the other day and it seems very cool. I've downloaded the PS plugin but haven't got round to using the other tools.
