I don't think there's anything to think about considering the fact that success is a journey and it's also relative.

Financial success is quite different from other kinds of success. And it might interest you to know that some people have the money yet they are not happy.

Some people are not even willing to be millionaires.

Get rich or die trying huh?

Im 25 and im hoping to be on that list by age 30 too

But like King said, some people are millionaires and they arnt happy.

and

No it's not simple at all.

Youth have no more passion at all, explain to me why you're right? Thats a ridiculous statement. It's down to the individual. When I was 18 I loved having fun, not creating a business. When I grew up and found myself homeless, then I found the passion you think you have. It's nothing to do with physical age, it's to do with who you are, where you are and a million other things. I think thats the biggest load of nonsense I've seen. I agree that there are many highly successful younger people that make excellent money and are authority figures in this game but your blanket statement makes out they're the only people that can achieve this. Utter nonsense. Is 30 youth? When I was 18 it was old. I'd like to know what youth is to you.

More importantly, I live in this era and while I'm alive, it's my era, no matter what my age. When you grow up, you might just realise what a silly statement you just made. Then again you'll need to grow up to see that first, otherwise you'd never have written what you did.

Isn't that what happened to youtube. I think the guy that created youtube ended up selling it to Google for an insane amount of money if I remember correctly.

Yes, even Google had a similar beginning. It was basically just two graduate students who decided to collaborate on a free search engine project, which basically took on a life of its own once it started getting popular. A commonality I've noticed with the majority of these bigger success stories is that they all started with a product or service that had mass consumption appeal which average people on the street could appreciate (i.e. they were not very niched/focused).

My point, your idea can be fantastic but without funding it won't go anywhere.

No doubt about that. These start ups all went through a very difficult phase when they were practically starving for cash, until venture capitalists and investors bought into their big product/service idea. These start ups were all highly leveraged before they took off, and without big money backing them up they'd never have been able to make such a big impact so quickly.

OPM (other people's money) is an essential element in all these businesses that take off very quickly. It could probably be done without so much leverage, but then again it might have taken a lot longer for them to reach critical mass.

Yea... I read the story.. something about a guy just wanted to show some videos to his buddy... but had no way to send them to him.. or something along those lines... then bam, it becomes Youtube..

Same type of story with Paypal.

As I've mentioned above, the common denominator of these huge successes is that they all have mass market appeal, and by providing their services over the internet they were able to spread like wildfire all over the world much faster than they ever could offline.

The list doesn't take into account people who have made millions off the internet with multiple sites, they only count one site. So there's more of a chance than you think.

Watching other millionaires and their success is complete waste of time, put your brain to work and deliver the results you want to see. Practice and experiment and eventually you will get there as well.

I think the main thing to notice with a list like this, is that it's the people that come up with something that provides a LOT of value to people, and then get it out over the internet as much as possible, tend to make the most money.

Not that 700 million per year is that much, I mean my grandma makes that selling cakes at the sunday markets

I believe it was the first major free dating site, and as a result it has grown enormously - I believe it's far bigger than any of the paid ones. This in turn has reinforced its popularity as there's a bigger dating pool for members to choose from than any of the others.

I used to play Runescape (#2 on that list) back in the early 2000's when it first launched and was a free game. Andrew Gower (the guy who made it) promised he would never charge to play it.

I'm guessing he's not regretting his decision to go back on that promise.

Truly inspiring, I started "going online" at the age of 29 after got fired from an insurance company, 4 years since then I'm not yet a millionaire but at least today I have an income that's twice as much as my ex-manager (the one who fired me) and that makes me feel like a millionaire
