I want to do a press release for my website.

    prweb.com are the market leaders and offer a lot of tips and advice to get you started.

    I have used them, it works and you don't have to go for the expensive options.

    If you are going to use one, then use PRWeb. However, be aware that you are probably not going to pick up much traffic if you just write about your site.

    Here are my tips...

    1) Look for a new stat or survey that is newsworthy
    2) Make the title be the stat
    3) Comment about the stat from an expert perspective
    4) Mention your website
    5) Drop only one anchor text link to your website

    If you write a press release about your site, then chances are no one will pick it up. If you mention a cool stat, then it will get picked up. Think of it as link bait pr.
