Boosting a Pre-Launch List

Would like to boost my pre-launch list, so would anyone like to share some tips around this subject?

Thanks,

I'd be inclined to help you out a bit, but to be honest I have no idea what the heck your asking.

It's a very open-ended question. There's a ton of things you can and should do to make sure your pre-launch is successful as possible. But these should all be figured out, arranged, and setup long before you start the pre-launch. It sounds to me like you are mid way through your pre-launch and it's not going as well as you had hoped?

If you now plan on going back to the drawing board and trying other things to get more subscribers for your prelaunch then you risk losing the momentum of your launch - which is one of the most important parts of the launch.

Remember, contrary to what a lot of people think, you can re-launch your product whenever you like. If it hasn't gone so well this time then maybe you should:

    a) Do a private launch to the people who have joined your list and give them a really big discount. Treat these people well and you can use them as testimonials for your re-launch. If you treat them well they could also turn into your affiliates for the relaunch.

    b) Cut your losses and go back to the drawing board and re-plan your launch. This time have everything set up and in place before you even start the pre launch. You will want to find some JV partners, affiliates, build some viral marketing into the pre-launch and so on.

Thanks for the reply WillR. The list is growing slowly each day and what I looked for was a "secret" way of boost it with traffic that I haven't thought of yet.

But I know if I run it to long I will loose the momentum of the pre-launch, and I don't want to risk that.

Thanks again for the suggestions on what to do, I'm going to figure it out by the weekend.

Give away a short, value-packed report to your list that whets the appetite for your launch and encourage people to pass it on to their friends.

I'm already doing that. I'm talking traffic "source". Thanks.

Why don't you start getting affiliates to promote your e-mail list. There's a good report, by warrior Paul Myers, on how to actually use your e-mail list as an affiliate program, so when you send the final offer mailing, they will actually get your link with the affiliate id, of the person that referred them to your list.

    Just an idea.

You don't 'hire' affiliates as such. Affiliates will only promote your product if it is a proven seller and you are offering them generous commissions. There are a ton of products out there affiliates can choose to promote so you have to convince them it is worth their time and/or money to promote yours. Your word is usually not enough.

Have you tried selling your product already? You shouldn't be at the pre-launch stage unless you have already done some PPC and know that your product sells and makes money. Once you have done this you will have some solid data you can then show affiliates to convince them to promote your product.

There is no point going through this whole launch process unless you have already tested your product, proven it sells, and have a rough conversion rate and average EPC (earnings per click).

You are lucky though because we are coming up to one of the best times of year to launch new products. The new year is always a great time to launch. Maybe you should spend the rest of the year getting things in place, testing your sales process, recruiting affiliates and come out with a BIG bang in the new year.

Thanks for the reply. So what you're saying is that I should try to sell it, like in the WSO for example and then have reviews etc. to show buyers.

So like this: WSO -> Pre-Launch -> Launch -> "Hire" Affiliates?

Thanks for all the info quake! Yes, I've already been setting up a site with all the tools needed for affiliates. So I think I will give WSO a try and then move on as you said.

              Thanks again.

What you are trying to achieve here is some sales figures to back up your argument and prove that your product sells. Anyone can say their product is the best and will make a lot of money, because let's face it, everyone does believe their product is the best.

If you want to recruit the best affiliates, the ones who will bring you 90% of the sales, then they will want to see some proof that this product sells and is worth their time and effort. Your word is not enough. So either do a WSO or if you want to keep things down low until you launch, just run some PPC traffic to the site. If you can't make the product profitable through PPC yourself then you're going to have a hard time convincing affiliates to promote for you.

Whatever you decide, make sure you set up some form of tracking like Google optimizer so you can then show affiliates the amount of traffic you sent to your site and how many sales that resulted in. If you are using Clickbank you can just show them the stats straight from your Clickbank account - hops vs sales.

As you also mentioned, this is a great way to get yourself some nice testimonials BEFORE you go ahead and roll out the launch.
