I'll work for food. And other stuff too.

Hi All,

As I've stated in other posts I love to barter my services for other things besides money.

It's like cutting out the middle men, i.e. Jackson, Lincoln, Washington, etc.

I'm posting this mainly for those who need "things" and have skills.

My latest trade was as follows.

We got home yesterday and picked up the remote to turn on the TV. Nothing happened.

Of course we tried the power switch directly on the tv, nope still no picture.

After a half hour of the usual CPR, banging on the sides of it, unplugging and plugging in, etc, we finally decided it was dead.

Without hardly even thinking about it I called my local electronics guy and simply asked him. Website for TV?

He said yes and I drove over and picked up my TV?

Newbies and Olbies alike.

Your skills can get you stuff instead of money and why not if stuff is what you need?

    Hi GW,

Good post, espaecially with the economy the way it is in the states.

I did stuff like this all the time- off and online. Lol I haven't needed a TV, but there is a lot of other things to barter for.

This reminded me of a husband and wife who didn't have much, but was interested in learning about building sites, and making money online. They came across one of my sites, and paid me a vis asking me if I would teach them a few things. We spent a couple of weks working on how to build websites, and city directories. They do it full time now so they can eat, get clothes, etc ...

All they do is approach local store owners, and ask them if they want them to build a site for their store or restaurant, and walk away with all kinds of stuff. It's pretty cool to watch.

    Mary
