How much would this cost? Wordpress set up with aweber

I really just need a revolution 2 video wordpress theme with maybe a few little edits.

Here's the theme ..

RevolutionTwo.com

I would also want to somehow tie it into aweber so the visitors would first have to create an account and "opt in" in order to view the videos.

So, it would basically be a membership site but without any payments or anything.

First of all, is this even possible?

If so, how much work would be involved in setting something like that up and how much do you think it would cost?

I have another wordpress blog and a couple of other sites that I had done through my web designer. Thing is, I just never how how much to pay because I really don't know how long this stuff takes..

Thanks in advance

Why don't you just password protect the posts that contain video?..

and then ONLY give the password out to those that sign up?...

Wordpress gives you the option to password protect any post you want

      Great advice Jay..
      Thanks so much.
      That certainly makes things easier

On another note, I found some nice keyword rich domain names ..
.tv or .net - does it make a difference?

Do you know if password protecting the posts will have a negetive effect on my SEO?
Will those posts not show up in a google search if they're password protected?

Good idea jay .. I'll do that ..

Also, in terms of a ballpark figure on how much a basic wordpress setup with a little tweaking and tied in with aweber - how long would that take and how much should I expect to pay?

Honestly.. it's not something I get into dude..

I do my own so I have never thought about pricing etc.... but I will tell you, to someone who knows what he/she is doing.. it's not that big a job so it shouldn't cost much...

    Peace

You could do the whole lot from scratch in an hour, as long as you've got your web hosting set up. (And probably even if you haven't!).

    1) Download and install Wordpress - 20 minutes. Less, if your hosting provider offers 1 click installation, which most do these days.

    2) Create your Aweber list, optin confirmation email, 1st message, generate the code and install it either in a text widget or on a page - 30 minutes.

    3) Find a theme you like, upload and activate it - 10 minutes. (Actually, this step may take longer than that if you're picky with your themes!)

It really is very straightforward, so don't let someone charge you the earth for it.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

I normally charge $25 - $50 for basic WP install and setup. One thing that can take longer and cost more is the complexity of certain themes and tweaking them to one's needs.

The basics can be very quick and easy as mentioned above, but changing header formats, tweaking and setting up certain plugins and getting everything really dialed in can take a little longer.

Definitely possible, the same technique has been used by several people, who offer a free sign up then offer a few oto upsells before actually giving you the free content.

David Moskowitz of Membership Academy can do it for you (no affiliation - but is the way i learnt how to setup membership sites) for a fee of about $150.

Its really not that difficult though - the basics of it are explained in the amember wiki and if you search through the amember forum there are directions there also.
