Just broke a personal Amazon record.

Hi Warriors,

I just wanted to share my latest achievement, I broke my personal daily earning on the Amazon.com affiliate program yesterday!

Although it's not a lot, I had 10 orders under my referral link yesterday for a total of $8.88!!

What am I doing to make commissions? Hub Pages and Niche Blogs ranked on Google page 1.

Keep lending your support, guys. I'm definetely cranking this up!

It's good that you're getting sales, but that's not a lot of money. If you're getting traffic, you may want to use digital products instead of physical products from amazon. Google rankings fluctuate, so there is no guarantee that you will be ranking there in a month or two. Take advantage of the traffic and maximize the profit potential while you can.

      Thanks for the reply, guys.

I actually prefer selling physical goods rather than digital goods. I know the commission is nowhere near but it's less saturated and they are easy to sell.

I'm not a newbie online I've been running my biz for nearly 3 years. This is just my first attempt at earning from Amazon.

How long have you been working and how many sites do you have to make that whopping $8.88 (do I dare ask)?

That may be so but having a small piece of a big pie is far better than having the big piece of a small pie. Amazon just seems like a lot of hard work to me. I'd much rather spend the time putting together sites selling digital products where I can get much higher returns for my work.

A lot of people think competition is bad. It's not so. If there's a lot of competition then it means the market is worth entering. You just need to find a side-door entry into the market.

This is a long-running argument which I feel doesn't quite hold water, as it's like comparing apples and oranges. Even though Clickbank may offer higher commissions, typically the products there go through cyclical patterns, and sometimes only do well for a short period of time. In addition to that, you have to deal with refunds that occur at a far higher rate than with Amazon purchases.

Promoting the right Amazon products could result in you earning money for a long time to come in a passive/residual fashion, and in addition to that Amazon is such a vast marketplace you could also earn commissions on completely unrelated items as well.

Ideally, you'd want a diversified portfolio of sites promoting both Clickbank and Amazon products, as this would even out your earnings in the long run and make you less affected by any sudden changes in either marketplace.

yeh agreed - I made $ 4 from an auto blog i just setup to see how it works - so yeh go for much higher paying products --

electronics only pay 4% -- anything else can go up to 6% - i think

Although I tend to agree - Amazon's commission is pretty small.

I've had some luck with physical products that have their own affiliate program - but that would depend on the niche you're in.

That is so awesome. I just had my first two amazon sales today for a total commission of $6.34. Like you, I realize its not much, but this is just after 2 weeks of autoblogging and back-linking. There has got to be more where that came from, so I am determined to find it.

Keep up the good work and I hope you add some zero's to your commissions soon!

Kevin, this is the personal philosophy I subscribe to also. I find that some people are so dead-set on using just digital product affiliate programs and making it their sole source of income. Instead, they should be diversifying their marketing instead and not putting all their eggs in one basket.

There's no need for an "either-or" type of approach here, and if you can combine the marketing of both digital and physical affiliate products successfully, then you really have a powerful combination on your hands!

    Wow, I wasn't expecting such a big response...thanks! :-)

I know, I know it's not much money as people keep reminding me. But it proves that the model works and with scaling the earnings are limitless.

I have only got one niche blog and one Hubpage for this stream so I will definitely be adding more blogs and hubpages to increase the income.

It's all about the scaling and I'm a firm believer that this business does take time. You can't earn $100 per day on day 1 with this model.

    Milestones are important!

That's the way to go. A lot of people exhaust themselves trying to find that one thing that will make them a heap of money right from the start. But if you can find something that earns you $10 a day consistently, all you need to do is replicate it ten times and your at $100/day. The skies the limit - actually it tends to be your patience and time that limits how far things can go!

I also broke my record this weekend, actually it was two days in a row that records were smashed to smithereens. I even got a nice sale on a site that I had largely forgotten about but that has quietly been getting some clicks this last month.

Congrats! It is nice to recognize when you hit personal records. it is not always about the money either.

Also $8.88 is huge if you think about it. In Haiti the few people that have jobs make about $1.50 to $2.00 per DAY. For the few that can get clean drinking water it is about .50 per bottle. A 5 pound bag of rice is $5.00. (Source NPR)

While I don't deny that, everyone has to start somewhere. After all, Rome was not built in a day, and with internet marketing your progress should be exponential if you strategically build on what you've done in the past, and work on your goals in a focused and consistent manner.

I've made my first steady sales from Amazon over the past few months. It feels really good. What's great is that many people who go there for one thing end up buying several things. Now, I intend to focus on pricier items for larger commissions.

Congratulations buddy I started out last week with promoting Amazon and I have earned GBP 5.61 so far, so theres clearly money to be made from this, I have been creating videos on Animoto then uploading them to YouTube which has been working out pretty well, the good thing about YouTube videos are you dont expect them to be earning you thousands straight away because it takes time to build them up, however after a few weeks the views get up and boom more money, I have been looking into Hubpages as well but not made my mind up yet, once again well done start slow learn to walk then chase the cash.

Congrats on your biggest day so far. I'm sure you'll top that in no time though.

This is certainly the time of year for breaking records for product sales. I made more in December already (as of 2 days ago) than I made in all of November (although the sales are probably about to slow down now).

I like keeping a couple of Amazon sites around each season, just because it's nice to see a lot of activity on those sites in a short amount of time. They don't do much the rest of the year, but if you have a wide variety of sites like I do then you can keep a fairly steady income year-round with Amazon sites.
