Can anyone point me in the direction of a free tutorial for setting up a Squidoo lens and HubPages page for marketing purposes?

  You can also look at current successful writers there, and see what they are doing. While you can't tell everything by the hubscore or lensrank, you CAN tell that they are an active contributor. (Of course, just because you are active doesn't necessarily mean you are successful, I know...). Even still, it may be a good place to start to see what kind of content ultimate succeeds online.
