While I was doing a research on Payal, I realize that Paypal only allow it's users to withdraw funds 5 times a year. Can someone verify that?

Never heard of that, I withdraw that many times per month easy. Perhaps if an account is on some kind of probation it is possible, so I won't say that it can't happen.

I'd certainly make sure you were verified before you started selling on a regular basis, paypal are quite well known for just "freezing" accounts that withdraw before being verified...i've heard some really horrific stories.

I think Paypal have got a lot better over the years and as long as you let them know when you expect a rush of payments they are very accomodating in my experience.

You get problems when all of a sudden something strange happens and causes alarms to go off in Paypals system then it can be a headache.

Exactly. Lots of "Urban Myths" about PayPal, so don't believe everything you hear about them. Like everyone else, they want to limit their risk. If you do something that might put a test to their TOS, then you may have issues with them, but otherwise they are very easy to deal with.

Yes, they can freeze your account, but so can your bank. It is very rare considering they have tens of millions of accounts, and they will unfreeze it once they are sure they are not at risk of losing money. It is not something most of us worry about, but some people have backup accounts (like Google Checkout) in case there is some misunderstanding that takes time to clear up.

Make sure that you are a verified customer because it makes things alot easier. They are known for freezing your high dollar paydays-anything over 1k if your not verified. I personally use their atm debit card on a daily basis. It sucks to have to wait five business days to get your money into your bank account.

After you get verified, I highly recommend getting the PayPal debit card. MUCH easier and faster to withdraw funds at the ATM than waiting for the funds to come down into your bank account. Plus you can use the card anywhere that accepts Master Card.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I could use that to pay business expenses also for hosting etc... without having to change currencies twice.

      Will definitely look into it.

      Thx

I may be wrong but the last time I looked I believe this was only available in the States. Have I got that wrong or am I just barking up the wrong tree?

Is there anyone from the UK with the card?

      • communication is the key and being verified. i have my verified account limited just the other day for a random security check. I couldn't unlimit it without calling them as they wanted me to update my credit card info even though i never used a credit card with them. I called them and got it sorted within minutes. As long as you communicate with them then you will be fine, and get verified!

I live in London, and I have a PayPal Debit Card. I
understand this service is suspended until the new
year for new signups. I use this card in the same
way I use my Barclays Debit Card. Probably the
biggest difference between the UK one, and the
US one is that the UK one has Chip and Pin.

Probably a verification issue. Is your account verified?

I am sure it depends on your account.

There are different types of paypal accounts.

    I withdraw funds every week

Why don't you get a paypal debit card that way you can limit your withdrawls. That may only apply to non verified accounts or new accounts. I know verified business accounts have no limitations

Paypal do a debit card for the US and UK, but at the moment you can't apply for one (Only UK as far as i know)...i also normally pay an extra £5 to have my funds cleared next day...which works a charm really!
