OK, I am a failure at this?
There. I've said it.
Tried everything, learnt SEO, learnt Wordpress. Got my sites up and running, but zilch, not a penny have I earnt!

My best keyword is a Spanish lanquage course, not very exciting I know, but I did the homework, found my keyword and made my site.
But now I simply don't know what I am doing and I simply can't believe anyone can be so totally focused as to make any money.

I need help and fast.
I love the concept and would dearly love to make any money but I am totally lost.

Should I start over again?
Do I need a mentor?
Any ideas as to where I'm going wrong would be greatly appreciated

Get yourself a mentor in your niche.

Do a search and you will find one.

Or go to "Looking For Hire" subsection of this forum to make a demand for a mentor.

Or join the war room because there are many valuable information you can get there free.

Mike, some of the most lucrative products aren't all that exciting. They just fill a want for people willing and able to pay to have that want filled.

An effective Spanish language course, in this day and age, would seem to fit that description. At least on the surface.

So that brings making money down to a two step process...

Crafting an offer that those willing and able to pay will find more attractive than saving their money or spending it elsewhere is step one. Step two is placing that offer in front of enough people to generate the returns you want.

In other words, it boils down to traffic and conversion. Ideally, you go back and forth - more traffic, better conversions, more traffic, better conversions. Eventually, you reach a point where increasing conversions costs more than you get back. So you dig in and start looking for more traffic sources that convert.

At this point, your lack of results boils down to a) are you getting enough traffic to tell if your current approach has a chance of working and b) how are you currently making your offer?

  • Learning Spanish is a popular product, so it's not the niche it's evrything else you must be doing around it.

I would not suggest starting again but look at what you are doing within the learning spanish niche.

  • Hey Mike,

    First off, slow down!
We have all been there, and it is tough when you think you have done everything right with no reward.

So, can I ask a couple of questions?
When you say you "tried everything", does that include giving your site plenty of backlinks, forum posts and enough time to succeed?

If you maximized with keyword domain name, and keyword density, Google recently decided to go to more of an LSI approach.

I would be happy to take a look at your site, but hnestly, if you approach some of the senior members here, they will be happy to give you amazing guidance.
    Good luck

Why would you start over when you've already done such a lot of hard work?
How long has your site been up? How are you driving traffic to it? Is that traffic targeted? How are you monetising it? Is the spanish course your own or an affiliate product? Do you have Adsense.

Really there are lots more things to consider. It's just not as easy as you maybe thought it was going to be, but that doesn't mean you should just throw in the towel.

I've heard good reports about having a mentor. Never had one personally so I can't comment, but if you feel it would benefit you, then go get one.

I am a newbie (5 months in IM) but with my limited experience, I definitely would say that you need a mentor. You could get on a free online course like the challenge, but there are many more available.

Although this forum is a wonderful place, without a mentor I would still be running around like a "headless chicken", trying to digest all the information. It is a lot easier at first to go with a tried and tested system. Then all you need to do is to concentrate on driving traffic!

    Good luck!

    Mentoring is important.

Even more important? Getting yourself in a positive vibration. When you feel good you will naturally move into inspired action: the "I love my work!" type of feeling, even when you aren't making a penny.

I suggest you go offline for a few days. Step away from the computer.

List out your personal and professional goals. Know where you're heading. With a clear path in mind it creates more clarity in your mind, which helps you to feel better about yourself and your work.

Increased clarity will help you to take the next proper steps too such as selecting the proper mentor.

    All the best!

Also, keep working and perhaps even getting a mentor, but know that getting traffic does take time. If your site has only been up a few months, it will still need more time to get a steady stream of traffic. If you give up on it now, you'll never know how good it could have been had you just hung in there and persisted.

    Mike,

there is only one way to fail and that is to quit trying so with that do not give up the hard work that you have put in to this point. You are in a no different position that many of us here have been in before.

    Without knowing none of the particulars in your strategy to drive traffic I would suggest this;

    1. Set daily goals as to what you are going to accomplish that day. It may be to write 5 articles, set up a You Tube account and make some short promo videos, etc.

    2. Schedule your daily "Work Schedule", write it down. and use the goals above as a guide to what you will be doing. You may only have 2 hrs per day or 5. Schedule the hours on a calendar for everyday of the week. I tend to take most weekends off, down time is important

    3. Make sure you're organized. It can get way too confusing if you do not have all of your ducks in a row. I use a big white board that has my "Blueprint" layout. Items checked off as completed.

    4. Take the time to read 30-60 minutes per day from some sort of material that will serve as a good foundation to your business. I mean things like Mind Set/Positive Thinking type books.

    5. Repeat daily. Consistency is key. Show up to work each day.

Good Luck and always know that you can always find help here in the WF.

    Regards

It sounds as if you might be doing too much, and in the wrong areas.

Why the emphasis on keywords, rather than a market? Why multiple sites?

Here's the IM process in a very tiny nutshell:

    1. Find a hungry market

    2. Find a product that you believe that market will go crazy over

    3. Promote that product to them

You don't need SEO or WordPress for any of that. Over time, you should become proficient in these areas, but they'll only help you once you've found a hungry market and are SELLING them products.

Here's how to make sales without SEO or WordPress...

Let's say that you choose "WordPress users" as your hungry market. Many WP users buy products related to WP because they're so enthusiastic about WP. (I do, for one. :-))

Go to ClickBank and find a product for WP users. Get your affiliate link.

Buy a domain name (without WordPress in it, otherwise you'll lose the domain, sooner or later.)

Redirect the domain to your affiliate link.

Write ten articles about WordPress, since you know how it works. Post those ten articles on Ezine Articles.

If you wish, you can set up a mailing list for WP users... it couldn't hurt.

    Made a sale?

    Great.

    No sale?

    Great.

Choose another product to promote to your hungry market (WP users) and repeat the process.

Keep doing what works; service a market.

Your emphasis MUST always be on GIVING PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT TO BUY. You're helping them to make purchase decisions.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you much success. You've done some excellent groundwork, so choose your market, and help them. :-)

Well judging by your use of the word learned you pronounce learnt which isn't proper english. So my guess you're not a native english speaker and the people visiting your sites will notice that right away and will leave your blog instantly. Have a native english speaker write your blogs.

Also I'm confused are your blogs promoting english speaker to learn spanish or do you want spanish speakers to learn english?

Also post links to your blogs so we can look at them to see what you're doing wrong.

Interesting thread, some good advice in the thread, I am really interested in a few things that I find to be of interest.

    1. the product, what is it, how good is it.
    2. presentation of the product, what is it, how good is it,
    3. platform, CMS, Content Management, System, (wordpress)
    4. hosting, IP Address, shared or dedicated?

Target market, keywords, ect, ect, ect,

I would be willing to help, you if your interested, the product would be the main thing, I would personally use Mnemonics, and images, embedded in software, interested?

    Post, and let me know,

You can have massive amounts of traffic, but if the porduct is overpriced or not appealing, nobody is going to buy. Maybe take a long hard look at your product?
