    I would say neither

I'll tell you why - the net is absolutely saturated with sites pulling products off the Amazon web service (API). It is so tempting just to create a massive site full of products in what you like to think is a 'niche' (but is actually usually far too wide, because it's such a temptation to flood your site with products). Most people get nowhere with this. Whatever people say about duplicate content not being a problem, in this case it IS, I assure you! There will be little to differentiate your site from the gazillions of other Amazon-based sites.

Try an experiment: find any Amazon product, let's say, this one: Amazon.com: Canon PowerShot S95 10 MP Digital...Amazon.com: Canon PowerShot S95 10 MP Digital... .

Now pick a longish sentence at random from a user review, put it in quotes, and put it into Google (here, I've done an example: "The second major complaint about the S-90 was that the function selection ring on the rear moved too easily." - Google Search).

How many results do you see? That's what you're dealing with. And I'd say a huge percentage of those sites are running AOM.

What's the solution? Promoting individual products on a blog using your own unique angle, reviews etc. I am personally pretty sure you will get much further with that approach. My 10 pence...

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

      markowe,

I agree with you on this one. However, I was wondering... what if we changed the footprint by changing names of the plugin files and then pulling in posts but writing unique content for each post? You think that'll work?

Also, check out this post and please PM me if you have an answer.

I use WP Zon Builder for inexpensive high volume Amazon products and find the software effective for this role.

Method 1 - write a Wordpress post with 100% unique content and use Zon Builder just for one related product, it creates a nice display.

Method 2 - use the Zon Builder to list a number of products. I know you can list 50 but I don't. I only display a few products by category and then edit the descriptions so there is some unique content. I also add a few related articles to the blog with a category titled "articles" and have text links to the products.

Zon Builder also comes with a widget where your top selling products can be added as a text link in the sidebar.

    It works for me.

      Hey Tom,

Do the sites using this plugin rank well for competitive terms?

      Cheers

I would recommend Fresh Store Builder and/or Affiliate Niche Script.

    Both have advantages.
