This may be in the wrong section or maybe a crazy question but I just dont get it.

How do I upload a zip file for others to download?

The pdf ebook files I have now have been uploaded to my domain and people have to go to my websites to view them.
Instead, I would like to provide a download link and have the person download the zip to their own computer if that makes since....

Is the answer to upload it as a zip file or is there a special way to do this?

Did I just answer my own question?? LOL

Yep. You answered your own question. Just zip the PDF with whatever software you prefer (e.g., WinZip or 7zip or whatever other one you choose) and upload the file to your server. Then just put a link on your site pointing to that file. Most browsers recognize a .zip file and will prompt the user to choose where to save the file when they click the link so there's nothing else you need to do.

Also, if you don't want to zip it you don't have to. Just instruct the user to right click the PDF link and choose "Save As..." and they can download it that way instead of viewing the PDF in their browser.
