I have an ebook that I would like to convert into an AUDIO. But I really don't know how to go about it.

Do you guys know any FREE/PAID software that can do this job, what I mean is: a software that can convert my ebook into an audio file?

Can Anyone help?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

      Thanks a lot ndopkate!

I am going to try him out. In fact, I just sent him a message and just waiting for his reply. Hope that he will do a great job for my project.

But if anybody else knows about a resource to recommend, please feel free to do so.

Anybody had tried this software already?

    Hi there...

Although I have never used, I was recommended the site below:

Convert any text to speech with iSpeech

    Worth checking it out.

By the way, it is not an affiliate link.

    Hope it helps.

  • I've found most text to speech software awful, especially when dealing with any technical or unusual terms.

Providing you have a clear speaking voice, it's an easy enough conversion to read the ebook into a microphone and record the results.

If not, there are plenty of people around who can do this, both amateur and professional. My recommendation would be to use one of the outsourcing sites, and get people to 'audition' by reading the first 2 minutes of the ebook. You'll soon get an idea if they have the right voice for the job or not.

I can hardly stand listening to text-to-speech output for more than 10 seconds.

Even a real person with a thick accent is easier to listen to.

Besides ... both Windows and Mac OSX have the ability to highlight text and have it converted to speech. It's part of the "Accessibility settings". For people who are visually impaired, they don't have much choice. But personally, I'd rather read than listen to these mechanical voices.

Yes, the text to speech programs become annoying after 15 seconds. Living in a university town, I have used a couple of starving actors with great success. Just make sure you audition them first and get a recording so you can evaluate their voices in your car, ipod, etc. then pick the one you like the best. I gave a guy $50 to read a 25 page report and he was thrilled.

    Tony,

As others have already stated, software does not give the best results. If you are trying to add value by converting it to an audio, do it properly. Your customers will appreciate you a lot more than if they get some computer generated voice. You can only listen to those things for so long before you get fed up with them.

I also do this type of work. Some examples...

    Best of luck.
