New Clickbank Contract!

There are numerous practices people here have been complaining about. Clickbank has changed their contracts to support several of these debatable practices. Here are just a few.

4. Sending Email: ... You shall not directly or indirectly:
c. Employ any false or deceptive information regarding Your identity, or regarding the intent, subject, or origin of the message or fail to include accurate information regarding Your identity, and the intent, subject, and origin of the Email.
d. Use any mousetraps or windows that reappear, spawn new windows or otherwise resist being closed.
g. Fail to (i) include clear, valid, and conspicuously displayed "From" and "Subject" lines in the Email, (ii) include a functioning return address (or hyperlink) in the Email that enables the recipient to submit a request to receive no further messages from You ("Opt Out Request") for no less than 30 days from the date the Email was sent; or (iii) honor any Opt-out Request within 10 days of receipt of such Opt-out request by You.
k. Employ any fraudulent, deceptive, false or misleading information in connection with the Emails.
Now, at least for the clickbank products, people have recourse against those marketers who use deceptive email subject lines, link to sites with multiple exit popups or don't provide legitimate unsubscribe links.

Could anyone confirm if having 2 exit splash when someone leaves your sales page (one for a discount page and one for an opt-in page) is valid within Clickbank's terms? Thanks!

Personally, I have no problem with one going to a discount page and maybe one more, but more than that is uncalled for.

Lately, I have seen popup pages go directly to clickbank after going through as many as 6 exit popups. This is probably what triggered CB's terms.

Another problem occurs if you have a popup when a visitor tries to exit and it refers the visitor to someone else's site. That site might have two popups and send the visitor to a third site. This repeats until the visitor gets sent to your site again.

I ran into that once and had to turn off the computer to get out of the browser. It would not have been a good day to meet me if your site were involved in that loop. lol.

You might run this through CB directly, but the statement that appears to apply is:
      d. Use any mousetraps or windows that reappear, spawn new windows or otherwise resist being closed.
      It seems to say NONE!

6 pop-ups?!? Nasty! I think the mousetraps or "windows reappearing" referred by Clickbank are those unwanted ones that keep re-appearing and makes the visitor feel trapped.

2 exit splash is normal and the visitor can get out easily if he wants. But just to be sure we're abiding by the terms, I emailed Clickbank and am awaiting their reply. Thanks!

I didn't catch the "reappear", I read it as "appear". I don't care what kind of window pops up or how many times as long as I can close my browser or the tab its in when it does. I have seen many of them but I can leave when I like.

What hurts is when I read my IM email and ten people send links to the same product. I click the link and move on the the next email. When I am done, I have ten tabs open to the hottest product. I scan it over and decide not to buy. Then I see all the tabs are the same site so I close the browser and viola! I have ten copies of one site that requires 6-10 clicks each to close the tab. lots of fun....

Funny thing, just since I wrote the OP, I hit a site with an offer, then when I closed it, it dropped $10. A second, and even a third time it dropped the price. It went from $47 to $17, but when I closed the $17 window, it sent me to Clickbank with a $47 price! I deleted it before I realized I should have used it as an example here.
