Could someone walk me through video articles?

I've made my first video article that I'm going to submit to YouTube. I have the URL of my site in the bottom right corner of the video. So you you also put the URL in the description? Or do you make it clickable somehow? I am very new to this so I don't know the best strategies.

    youtube will make any urls clickable in your description text
    make sure to put it in the first line so that viewers won't have to click 'view more' to see your link

    as a side note, have a look at tubemogul.com ... good site if you are an active video marketer

    you must include 'http://' at the beginning of your title, if not it wont be clickable..

    you can put annotations in your video after you upload in youtube.

    for instance, put your link at the bottom and make it pop in green or red.

    then, in the description, always put your link FIRST. i forget why but it has something to do with the searches.

    remind them, via your annotations, to check out the link, subscribe, comment, and rate. always remember to tell them what you would like them to do.

      You also have to put the link first for watchers who don't seem to realize that the description box exists, despite the fact you where to click the link in the annotation. If the link shows up on top of the description box, viewers don't have to click the arrow button to maximize the box. In my experience, this one-click process seems to befuddle 80% of my viewers.

      Make sure whatever URL you put in is at the VERY BEGINNING of the description if you're on Youtube.

      This will guarantee that the person can see it while they're watching the video and click it a lot more easily.

    Having your URL in the video is great. Not a lot of people do that. I have seen a lot of direct traffic because of having the URL of in my videos, so kudos on that!

    Yes a the FULL URL is what you need in your description. You can also use a bit.ly link to determine the effectiveness of the click through, or just make sure your have Google Analytics on your site.

    As was said before, make sure you have a call to action IN the video that refers to the link, or use an annotation to draw attention to the link.

    Another suggestion is to look at the insight of your video, click on "Hot Spots" and find the part of the video that has the greatest amount of attention and put the annotation that points out the link there. Although your video needs a certain amount of views before Hot Spots work.

      Put the link at the start and the end of the description for people who do read it to the end.

      Also check top videos in your niche you can see the tags they used by expanding the info on the video page.

      Definitely have a clear message to click the url below.

      You can only make the annotations clickablexto your site if you pay for it to be a promoted video.
