Hey All

I have mounds and mounds of work to do, Im just not sure what to do when and I always seem to lose track of what Im doing resulting in mass confusion for a good 20 mins.

I want to make the most of my time.

How do you guys ensure you stay focused and get the most done in the least amount of time?

At the end of the day, make a quick list of the goals you want to accomplish the next day. Prioritize the list, then when the next day comes you just start going down your list checking them off one by one.

To stay focused, it helps to eliminate the distractions. Close your email client. Turn off the phone if you have to. Don't go to sites like the WF and YouTube, where distractions abound, until you are well on your way to knocking out your list. Then take a break as a reward for work accomplished. Time it though, give yourself X amount of time then back to work. When the list is complete, then you can spend as long as you like surfing around for pleasure.

If that doesn't do it for you, you might need to keep a log of your daily activities for a while. This will help you identify where you're wasting your time. It may well also help keep you focused on your goals.

Try finding an assistant or maybe sub out some of the work and focus on the things that you do best

Actually, we recently had a webinar at Wealthy Affiliate on just this topic.

Some of the solutions are built-in to the WA members website, but for myself I personally would never get anything done without the todo list. White boards are good if you have one.

I've tried a few different things over the years. Todo lists are certainly great. Calendars with deadlines are also important.

During a specific day, it can be a good idea to break down your goals into specific timelines. For example, in the next hour, this is the concrete deliverable I want to have finished.

Another concept I've tried, but didn't work personally for me, though it seems good for others is to work for 50 minutes with no distractions, then take a 10 minute break. This lets you focus on what you need to get done, but also gives your brain a regular break. This can be a good thing for people who easily get distracted or find it hard to focus on one thing for a long time.

Write down your task. When tasks stare back at you it's easier to remained organized and motivated.

Also do 1 thing at a time. I broke this cardinal rule the past few days, hopping back and forth between WF, blogs, FB, twitter....the end result was needless anxiety. The feeling that I would "never get it all done."

Today I stuck to keeping one window open and doing one thing at a time. Feels much better and the effectiveness of my acts jumped too.
