PLEASE HELP- After Buying Domain Name From Godaddy, Problem Starts

Each time you edit the nameservers it can take up to 72 hours for the domain to propagate throughout the internet. They have to update when changes are made and they don't all do it quickly. Usually you're looking at around 24 hours but, like I said, it can take up to 72 each time so if you change hosting or just change the site that the domain points to you're looking at another waiting period.

Just be patient. It'll happen.

As far as installing blogs on your HostGator account, you can still do that. You don't need to use the domains you purchased to access/view your site. When you signed up with HostGator you should have been given access to the control panel for your site. Log in, create an addon domain (it will ask you for a domain name--enter one of the domains you registered without the "http://" part) and you'll get a new URL for that site. HostGator will give you an address to access your site to view your blog and so forth so that you can view your site. Once your the nameservers update you'll be able to type in your domain name as you normally would but until then just use the address HostGator shows you when you create the addon domain.

To install Wordpress, go to the main page of the HostGator control panel and find the Fantastico icon. Click it and follow the instructions. It's all done automatically by the software. You just have to pick a domain/directory to install to.

Yep. HostGator treats each addon domain as a completely unique and separate site from all of the others that you might have.

When you create the addon domain, HostGator will ask you for a domain name for the new site. Choose one of your domains that you registered at GoDaddy and enter it where HostGator asks you to. Just don't put the "http://www." part in there. This will tell HostGator to show that particular site/blog when visitors come to your GoDaddy domain.

Basically it works like this:

(1) For example, say you register http://www.yoursite.com at GoDaddy.

(2) You change the nameservers at GoDaddy to point to your hosting account's nameservers--in this case the HostGator nameservers.

(3) You log into your HostGator control panel and create an addon domain. HostGator will ask you for a bit of info about the new domain/site that you want to create. One of the things it will ask you is what domain you want for your site.

(4) Enter the new site's details into the addon domain creation part of HostGator. Basically all you should have to enter is "yoursite.com" into the correct area and also a name for the site so that HostGator can create a URL for it. As I said, just use "yoursite.com" and leave off the "http://www." part. HostGator will tell you this when you set it up.

(5) Once your new site/domain is set up through the addon domain section of your HostGator control panel you'll have a "raw" URL address. This "raw" URL will be whatever you entered for the name of your site in step 4. For instance, if you entered "mysite" then your raw URL would be "http://mysite.yourhostgatordomain.com" and that's what you'd enter into your browser to view the site you just set up. Once your domains from GoDaddy start working you can just use those to view your site. Until that happens you'll use the URL that HostGator gives you when you set up the addon domain to access/view your site in your browser.

(6) Go back to the main page of your HostGator control panel and find the Fantastico icon. Click it and select Wordpress from the script install options. You'll be asked a couple of questions (such as where you want to install it--I believe HostGator gives you a list of all of the sites/domains that you have set up so just pick the one you created in step 4). After a couple of clicks, your Wordpress blog will be ready to go. Make sure you write down all of the information it gives you such as the login/password for the blog (which you can change later) and the information for the database that Wordpress needs. You may need them later.

(7) In your browser, enter the "raw" URL that you were given by HostGator when you set up your addon domain. You should see your blog if everything is working. This allows you to see how your site looks and log into Wordpress, etc. before your GoDaddy domains start working.

NOTE: This is all from memory. I haven't done this with HostGator in a while so some of it may not be completely accurate but the basic steps should be right. HostGator makes all of this easy and gives you step-by-step instructions so you shouldn't get lost. Plus, they have excellent help articles on their site.

And yes, you'll have to do this for all 25 domains. You'll need to create an addon domain and set up a blog for each domain that you registered at GoDaddy. Don't worry though, once you've done it a couple of times it only takes a minute to do it. Seriously. It sounds much more complicated than it really is.

Did you change the name servers for your domains yet and have the 72 hours elapsed yet? Also, make sure that you haven't misspelled the add-on domain names in hostgator.
