What Gives With Yahoo??

Has anyone else recently had problems with Yahoo Hosting?
I've been getting problems with edits not publishing for a while now.
I Contact Yahoo, = no responses.

Several days ago, one of my sites that has been up for 4 or 5 years, suddenly 'temporarily disabled. Contact Customer Care' comes up instead of my website. It's just an innocent Plastering services website. Nothing dodgy. Hardly gets touched.

I've contacted 'Customer care' 3 times now with absolutely NO response. (Frustrating or what?).

Yesterday I read that they're 'pleading' with Microsoft to buy them out.
Could this be a tactic to get everyone to cancel their hosting accounts so that Microsoft won't have to take on the hassle??

Any thoughts or experiences on this anyone??

    Good luck with them, I had a client that was hosted with them and nothing but dead ends lately

    I don't think they would do that. It would be a pretty stupid thing to do for a corporate company like Yahoo.

      I think it's probably only the 'hosting' that Microsoft aren't happy about. But AOL have jacked in their photo-hosting last week, so maybe you ought to duplicate onto another platform just incase. :-(

      One minute everythings 'Hunky-Dory', the next it's all 'gone to pot'.

    You should go with a proper host like hostgator
    or bluehost. Hostgator has been awesome and their
    support is great.

      I intend to. But still need to resolve the 'where's & whyfores' first for original disablement.

      Hostgator support is great, but they've still not been able to confirm if they can translate Yahoo's strange sitebuilder language.
      I have five websites with 1,000's of pages written over several years. Can't even begin to imagine re-editing them all.

      (Still waiting for support from Yahoo) :-(

        Yahoo hosting, as well as Google's, and others- who's primary business IS NOT hosting.

        Stay away from those.

        Hosting for these companies is more of an amenity for them, and the options they provide are usually poor in general.

        However some specialty services are very good, such as Amazon S3

        All hosting services will have some problems, but using a company that specializes in one thing is a better choice.

        Time to pack up your site and move on.

          I think I've got that now Eric. But at the time it seemed (the easy option).

    Cut-backs are the order of the day as Yahoo et al struggle with falling revenues. Hosting and other loss-leader services will be the first to be pruned. Better look elsewhere for hosting if you are serious about your IM.
