The first one I ever bought was "Desperate Buyers Only" by Alexis Dawes.

It's really very good. It didn't have a very hypey sales page, and it more than lived up to its claims, and was really useful to me in starting off.

I always forget about Don Lapre. Actually this was the first product I ever bought way before I owned a computer. I bought it from a friend of mine for $20. It was an excellent course, but I never applied it.

This was my first offline guide, as well. And, yeah, it worked somewhat. I learned early on, though, that I hate packing and shipping stuff.

My first online guide was Jeff Gardner's "The Ultimate Million-Dollar Idea Generator". This worked in a lot of ways for me. It was a nice wake-up call in that I learned how to "think outside the box" in my early internet days. I also learned how to put together ebooks because of it. I still have it on my computer and open it up from time to time.

  I did do one thing with his stuff that I just thought was incredibly awesome: I put some stuff up for sale on consignment. That was great. I dropped it off and set the price, someone else sold it for me, and then I just went and picked up my money. I should do more of that.

LOL we were just discussing him a few weeks ago .. as in "whatever happened to him" .. too funny. Anyway back to OP, first book/guide I ever bought was Make Your Site Sell (original version) and don't think I slept for about a week reading it. It did wonders for me creativity wise, however pitching was not my gig (still isn't), but luckily for me, Terry Dean gave my website a once over (which brought me 5K a day) and I landed a book writing gig with Jimmy D. Brown.

The first internet marketing guide I ever bought was "Social Networking on Squidoo" by Tiffany Dow. It was well worth it, no fluff, and extremely informative. Since then I've bought a few other ebooks by Tiffany and I'd recommend any of them- she's terrific and really over-delivers.

Google Cash - did it live up to it's claims??? It was good but I didn't make any money from it - that is one topic I've always struggled with. I ended up getting a refund, not because it was a bad product but because the support was terrible and he actually had his support at a high value on his sales page - so the support certainly didn't live up to it's claims!

First online was Corey's course, back in 96 or 97, I think.

First offline was from Dean Duvall. It was probably 30+ years ago. The first one that was more than a few bucks was a set of tapes by Gary Halbert, in 1988. I saw him and Les Brown at a seminar, and Gary was just crazy enough to get my attention. Paid $200 at the back of the room.
