Best way to get traffic stats for a WP site?

I'm not looking for anything super detailed just something which shows daily and unique visitors.
I'm currently using the cPanel to check.

Check out Google Analytics, it will show you all sources of traffic, not just the ones coming from Google.

It's very easy to setup and use. Let me know if you have any trouble setting it up and I will give you a hand.

Google Analytics is great for tracking the user activity and conversion on a sales site, if you just want more basic traffic stats, visitor geo info and keyword tracking, the free version of statcounter may do, it provides a summary page for multiple sites. Free version maintains total visit counts but throws out older visitor details except last 500.

Go to your plug-ins menu in word press and choose the add new, then search. Enter statpress relaoded.

Install that plug-in, it will give you pretty basic stats and you won't need to log into cpanel. All your stats will show in your WP back office.

I use a free service which will give you the stats you are looking for and much more. It is statcounter.com. It requires you to insert some code (obtained from statcounter) into the head section of any page that you want stats for and can be used on blogs or html websites.

I use StatPress, CyStates, Google Analytics and StatCounter.
I did use WP-referrer but it doesn't work anymore. I liked it because it would capture and organize keywords that led visitors to certain landing pages.

Google Analytics works for me, Yoast has a Google Analytics plugin, and it can produce lots of pretty extra statistics via custom variables.

I use Google Analytics with a Google Analytics plugin. It's super easy, just sign up for an account and put in the tracking code. The plugin puts in all the rest of the necessary code for you.

i also use google analytics for my stats but just recently started using the google analytics dashboard plugin which I really like a lot. The plug in gives a quick snapshot but in order to get the real meat and potatoes you have to sign in to the google site.

Theres advantages and disadvantages of StatPress and G.Analytics.
Good thing is that it is very specific (for blogs ) and its realtime, you don't have to wait for hours like on G.Analytics.
But the bad thing is that since it is installed on your server it consumes power from your server. This is especially bad because stats scripts are notorious for their resource consumption.
Google Analytics on the other hand, doesn't consume your server's power, Google graciously provided the processing for free.

Try statpress, its free. If you need something more detailed then use Google Analytics.
