Monthly PLR Membership: Good, Bad or Ugly?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm a novice internet marketer, put my first info product on ClickBank 7 weeks ago and I'm delighted to see regular, daily sales.

Now that I know how to 'do it' I'm looking for ideas for my next eBook.

Came upon an ad for a PLR monthly membership plan, you know the kind of thing;

new PLR content every month
mini-site graphics, sales letters etc
In fact everything you need to sell the stuff.

I'd like to tap into the experience of the forum members and ask is this a good way of churning out regular products or will I be wasting my time and money?

PS Excuse me if it's a stupid question but when I posted this thread I noticed 2 boxes beneath the 'message' box; 'Tags' and 'Trackback' what do I put in these?

Cheers from rainy England!

    Welcome Stuart...

Sun is half out here in Blackpool, UK..!!

First off, great news to hear you're making money.

When it comes to PLR you really have to alter everything
so it is completley unrecognisable to the original creator.

Put your own character into the ebook.

If you use one of the better PLR sites such as Nicheology (Nicheology Online Profit Systems and Strategies) that limits its content.

You don't want millions of PLR copies sold..!!!

You should be building up a list of affiliates so you can send them
information on the next product so they can promote your new product
    each time you release.

Each time you will make it easier for yourself.

    Hope this helps a little,

Here's a great product I bought a while back on this
    subject. Comes recommended

    Hi Stuart

    Greetings from miserable Scunthorpe.

I've found a membership site is a good way of "churning out" products, but you need to think about where you are getting those products from and what the subject of your site is going to be.

I run several membership sites, and I pay thousands of dollars a month for content. I'm a big believer in fresh content.

Having said that, I do know someone who runs a membership site who uses very high quality PLR stuff. and it does very well.

You've got to pick your niche carefully, some can get very saturated and if your not giving good stuff, you either just won't get the members, or they won't stay

    Cheers
    Kymi

My recommendation? Stay clear of this site. You can use the articles only if you remain a member for life, or if you pay an ADDITIONAL $67 fee to keep them on your sites or in your autoresponders once you cancel your membership. Imagine having to remove all that content, and that includes deleting any ebooks you created with those articles? He relies on this as a way to get extra money from you. Most people would probably rather just pay up than go through the hassles.

BTW, it's $37 a month, or it was when I cancelled in August - after paying this guy about $148 I refused to pay the extra and trashed everything, so I got zip for my 148 bucks!

Given that, I do not find the $67 fee to leave and still use their materials unreasonable.
I've never been a member of Infogoround, but I HAVE had an original article of mine submitted by members of Infogoround as THEIR content...and had it passed around as PLR. Whether there are measures in place now to prevent that from happening, I don't know, but it sure has hell left a nasty taste in my mouth.

And based on Sylvia's latest experience, I'll continue to steer clear.

When Turbo PLR are released they are very good but ....

TurboPLR has had trouble releasing monthly updates on time. This month (May 2009) they have not released an update yet. Updates are usually around the 15th of the month.

I did shoot off a support email a week ago asking when the next update would be and the responce was that one was coming but no idea when.

Could be that the owner is busy with another big project just released.

This site IS what you're looking for. It seriously takes PLR to a new level (no nonsense)! I've been jumping from PLR sites to PLR site for nearly a year now and this is, hands down, the absolute best I've ever seen. I also know John personally, and anything he puts his name can almost always be guaranteed to be golden.

JP, I agree that MaximumPLR is also a very good one. I am a member of that one too. I also recommend ContentGrab PLR.

PLR is good if you have a copy writer to edit them and make them unique. With a flow coming in every month you will also find a lot of useless junk. Many PLR places also use the $2/ article services and it show in the quality.
