Page 1 on Google, Descent Traffic, but No Sales

Hey guys,

I am on the Warrior Forum quite often. However, this is actually the first time I have ever posted anything. I have sort of a unique scenario. I have no problem ranking blogs on the first page of Google. In fact, I do it all the time. I think I currently have around 14 or so blogs on the first page.

Anyway, the problem I have is that I totally suck at creating pages that convert visitors into sales. Here are a couple sites that I recently created that are on page one of Google for their related keyword terms.

==========================================
Sorry I can't post links yet because I only have 6 total posts
==========================================

winebottlecellar (dot) net (Ranked 3rd for the term "wine bottle cellar")

waystoincreaseyourvertical (dot) com (Ranked 7th)

The winebottlecellar is getting about 3,000 visitors per month and I have not gotten one sale.

I'm not sure how many visitors the vertical jump site is getting. I just threw it up real quick and forgot to add analytics to it so I added it today. I know I can move these blogs even higher in google, but before I put in any more work I want to change up my blog so it will get sales.

I think I need to move to more of a landing page style to get more conversions but thought I would post this here and see what you guys think.

Thanks,

Aaron

I don't think that's the main problem you have.

You have no opt-in: you're not building lists.

You have landing pages. They just don't have opt-ins.

Yeah, I used to have an autoresponder series set up with Aweber but I cancelled it. I just wasn't getting very many opt-ins. I will definitely implement that again in the future. However, as for now I am more concerned about getting my visitors from my blog site to the ebook product page.

        Hi,

Nice looking wine blog. I'm a huge lover of German Mosels. That's the best in
the world for my palate. lol

Your ebook is about building your own wine cellar. Ok, that's fine. I have no idea
what the search volume is for 'how to build your own wine cellar.'

But... the rest of your site is geared to everything but building your own wine cellar.
I would venture that most of your traffic, if not an extremely high percentage, has
no desire to build a wine cellar.

I very strongly recommend you abandon the 'how to' ebook and monetize that blog
        in other ways.

Then, build a blog that is all about building wine cellars. You only want traffic that
is interested in wine cellars and nothing else.

Start with your root keyword phrase, wine cellars or maybe even 'how to... ,' and then
use the blunder wheel lol, wonder wheel, and related search terms available at
google to construct the silo/keyword/category structure for your blog.

Get unique content, vids, pics, etc.

Then create a cool little 10 pager pdf about something really unique and related to
wine cellars. I recommend you spend some time in wine aficionado forums and lurk.
Look for conversations about wine cellars and try to find good stuff people ask about.

Use that pdf to build a list. But be sure you target people who have an interest to
        build a wine cellar.

Make the blog highly targeted to wine cellars, how to make them, etc.

Do that and you will sell your ebook. Have something on the back end, too. You can
sell gear like humidifiers/temp controls, etc.

That is what you need to do.

        Ken

Congrats on getting to the top few spots on google for wine bottle cellar and getting traffic! That's the hardest part

Here is what I’d do. Adsense and amazon.

You need to get a better template geared toward adsense and one that blends it nicely.

Get the top brown template here > ProSense: An Adsense Ready SEO Wordpress Theme

Put the template on your site and run it a week and see what happens. Also, post some amazon widgets on the right sidebar that show wine cellars because I think that’s what people are looking for >> Wine bottle cellars at amazon

I think people are looking for those little wine bottle coolers on Amazon, not how to build a cellar.

Give something like this a shot, you have nothing to lose.

i Agree with Alexa, start building a list and educate yourself about email marketing. than create a campaign.

    Best Regards,

    Alex.

Why don't you put adsense on your site. I own a similar site and get some revenue from it and it is also on page one for the keywords in its name. Your site looks nice but I noticed that you have very few products on the home page and I almost missed the other pages. Why not pick some Amazon.com products that sell well and put them in one or two posts at the top of your site.

I am looking at your waystoincreaseyourvertical website. My opinion is that it is better to use pages than to use blog postings. The reason is that a page look timeless while a posting look outdated if you don't blog regularly.
