How much should I pay for each new opt in?

I'm buying traffic to my squeeze page. How much is each new subscriber worth? I think I heard once that paying $1 for each is pretty good. Am I remembering correctly? I know there's no hard and fast answer, but welcome all your opinions.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

    Hi Amy!

    Depends on a few factors:

How targeted are your opt-ins, do you expect to have a high conversion rate?

Are you selling them higher priced items? For $1000 item I would pay more than a $25 item.

In your niche will you be limited to what you can sell them and how many times? If your niche has a lot of different items to sell and you expect repeat business, then it's also worth a little more.

Just some things to consider, hope that helps!

    Amy,

Why are you buying traffic and where are you buying it from?

I STRONGLY recommend NEVER buying traffic. Your conversion rate is generally going to be very low.

That $1 mentioned is probably in reference to the rule of thumb estimate that each subscriber is worth $1 per month, of course it's highly variable depending on the product and your email effectiveness.

It depends on what you are selling and how your
offer converts, and, most importantly, how targeted
    the opt in is,

Paying $1 per lead is an excellent way of boosting your list and subscriber base.

However, you have to be very careful that the people who sign up aren't just freebie seekers.

You also absolutely must have a proven system whereby you KNOW absolutely that your backend converts well and you KNOW that you are going to cover the cost of paying for these subscribers and more on top.

Test your funnell with free traffic and once it's converting nicely, TRY paying for leads if it's what you want to do... but start small and slow and leverage any results you have from there.

PS To answer your question about how much to pay for a lead... only you can answer that once you know how much each lead, on average, makes you.

like everyone said you must calculate the worth of your opt in and the source where it come from. You must have both frontend and backend products in place to make buying opt in worthwhile....no one can tell you early how much it should cost but your goal is to pay as little for quality opt in as possible

I think 1$ or a little bit less is the common price per opt-in. Are you buying them from CPA networks or from freelancers? I am just curious
