I had a wordpress blog yogadealsblog.com which I want to transfer to Godaddy.

Nameserver had been pointed, I uploaded the files and changed the wp-config file but it still shows the advertisement page.

I checked with Godaddy:
Thank you for contacting online support.
Please note, it appears as though your domain name, YOGADEALSBLOG.COM, is not properly pointing to the hosting account. You may use the following information to not only locate the hosting account's IP address, but to also modify the domain's IP to properly resolve.
To locate the IP address for your hosting account:
? Select 'Hosting' under the 'My Products' section.
? Click the hosting account that you would like to look up the information for.
? Notice the 'Hosting Account Details' listing on the right side of the page.
? Here you'll be able to see the IP address for your server.
You can change the domain name's A Record IP address from within the account by using the following instructions.
To Edit an A Record
1. Go to the Zone File Editor for the domain name you want to update.
2. In the A (Host) section, click the A record you want to edit.
3. Edit any of the following fields:
Host ? Enter the host name the A record lin

I did what they said but it still not pointing to my site, I asked them for help. Now it pointed to phpadmin page.

I decided to install a new wordpress on it but it still does not work.

Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, the nameservers had been pointed few days ago.

It seems that it's not pointing to the correct folder.

For ftp, I am unable to connect using yogadelasblog.com but able to do so with the ip address.

Try to re-enter your nameservers. Just delete and re-enter them again and wait for 24 to 48 hours. Sometimes it worked.

Btw it's true that godaddy sometimes can takes forever.

GoDaddy hosting is well and widely known to be pretty "difficult" with Wordpress.

If I might suggest a use of the search function here which you may find interesting, look for all the posts made by Istvan Horvath (who probably has greater experience and expertise with Wordpress than anyone else here, and whose opinions should never be lightly dismissed) which contain the words "GoDaddy hosting" and similar search-terms. Reading the results may make you want to change your intended hosting, though, I'm afraid.

I was about to say roughly the same thing...

I changed hosting accounts (away from GoDaddy) quite some time ago and haven't looked back since. It's been my experience that they are more trouble than they are worth...but maybe I just had bad luck with them.

Good luck OP, hope it gets fixed soon!

Actually I had no problem with transferring blog to Godaddy before. It's tougher and more complicated.

But this time round, I just cannot even have the site show up. Too bad, hosting had been paid and I had to stick with them.

Not sure if this is related but your IP is listed on at least one blacklist.

Why would you want to host with Godaddy? You will be much better off in the long run to find one of the cheap shared hosts out there that do not have proprietary protocols that you have to deal with. Do yourself a favor and find one of the many hosts that use cPanel (most of them do) and you will have a much, MUCH easier time than with godaddy. Not to mention the flexibility that you will have with your account. Just my 2 cents.

You can connect to your server by using IP but not domain, so it must be something wrong with the A record of your site or the nameserver seting. If you can't solve it, I think you can contact godaddy's support center to ask for help.
