Clickbank Dilemma - Sales v Refund % Rate??

How do you decide what Clickbank products to promote?

I've been spending a little while looking around CBENGINE - Top ClickBank Marketplace Website! (not affiliate link) which if you take out a free 15 day trial, or buy, you can see the refund % of products.

I was amazed - and a bit horrified - that some of the higher gravity products have refund rates of over 60%.

I'm not sure I'd be happy promoting something that most people want a refund on.

The main product I promote has a refund rate of 4.09%, and I have yet been asked for a refund.

So should I - and do you - promote a product with a high refund rate, safe in the knowledge that keeping 40% of your sales is still a good $$ ££ result?

    You can see only CBEngine's assessment of the refund rate. That's very different. The refund rate is not disclosed by Clickbank and "those sites" have no information from Clickbank which you and I don't have. They just think they can work it out, and I don't.

    And in any case, refund rates vary enormously between affiliates, according to how the product's pre-sold.

    The overall refund-rate would tell me little about my refund-rate.

    A product with an overall refund rate of 60% would very rapidly be removed from the Marketplace by Clickbank.

    Are you sure you're not looking at the "%rfd"?

    That figure gives the percentage of "referred" (not "refunded") sales, i.e. sales made through affiliates. And Clickbank doesn't even publish those any more, anyway. They were always completely misleading, because you couldn't tell from them whether the vendor was making sales himself, as his own affiliate(s), as so many (perfectly legitimately) do.
