Hi warriors - I'm still fairly new. I set up a website and was looking for feedback. This is a site that just is to let local customers know a little more about me.

If anyone wants to help, please see localsearchpronm - dot - com. I would appreciate suggestions and comments -

Thanks!

I like the site structure personally, it is the kind of site I would stick around on.

It is easy on the eye.

Regarding the content, I don't have a deep understanding of social media marketing, so my opinion isn't really relevant.

Nice clean professional look. I like it.
I would add About, Contact and Privacy pages.
Maybe a "services offered" summary page?

Anne, you make it pretty difficult to get in touch with you. I found it because I was looking for it, but many potential prospects won't make the effort.

Let's start with the home page. Like the others, I really liked the clean layout and easy reading. But it doesn't really look like a site offering professional services. You have some very informative posts on the main page, but they don't seem to have any real order to them.

Even with the bit of green, your free guide offer is easy to miss. It also doesn't really tell anyone why they should want it, other than the fact that it's free. You know why they should have it - it's so obvious to you that you built a whole business around the subject. Your visitors don't have your inside knowledge. You have to spell out why they should take the time to give you their email and read your guide.

This is nit-picky, but I got a disconnect between an offer for a free guide and a button asking me to "subscribe". Makes me wonder what else you plan to send me, and not in a good way.

Moving on, I'd get rid of the Amazon ad in the sidebar. If you want to promote Amazon products, give them a category like "other uses for social media."

In your shoes, I'd develop a static front page with the free guide opt-in front and center. A good headline, a few powerful bullets and a strong call to action should see some sign-ups.

If you want people to like you on Facebook, tell them how and why to do it. I'm guessing that a lot of people won't have a clue what you're talking about.

The rest of the home page would look like a normal blog, but the posts would be carefully selected and placed in a specific order.

I'd end the page with another copy of the squeeze form, headline, bullets and all.

    On to the post pages...

You have some nice information for prospects, but you don't really tell them what they need to do next. Here's where you start thinking like an article marketer, and use a 'resource box' of sorts telling people to get in touch with you at the end of the article. You also want to remind them about the free guide.

If you have any real case studies yet, make them into blog posts and give them a category, too. End with a strong call to action to get in touch with you if they want the same kind of results, or to see how something like the case study could improve their business. You're the expert - tell them what to do.

According to your FB page, you've been doing this for going on 14 years. Trumpet the fact on an About Me page, or link the About link to you FB page.

Anne, I hope this short critique is helpful, and gets the wheels spinning for you...

It looks pretty nice, its clean and its not hard to browse around you website.
As others have already said, you should add privacy policy and contact us page.
There are plugins that can do that like contact us form 7.

It wasn't immediately clear to me what you were offering. You do say "SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING FOR SMALL BUSINESS" in your headline, but that should stand out more.

Consider using a benefit oriented headline. Maybe "We Use Social Media to Grow Your Business". In other words let folks know right up front what benefits they'll experience if they hire you.

Consider putting images on your site to grab attention.
icontact.com does a good job of this on their homepage. Not too long ago they had a picture of a girl who used iContact to sell t-shirts. There was a short and interesting blurb under the picture.

Joshua, for some reason the link in her sig leads to a parked page. Her last name is House, so HM is trying to match it as a keyword.

Just copy/paste the url into your browser to get the actual site.

        Anne,

Your opt in box ("Make Your Website a Marketing Machine") doesn't seem to be displaying properly in Firefox. There is also an issue with it in IE8. I'm viewing on a 19" monitor and running XP Pro.

        Hope this helps.

          2 things.

Yup, you've got a Firefox problem.

This may be nitpicky, but even though I've been around this IM thing for a while, it is never immediately obvious to me exactly what is meant by the phrase "social media". Since I am not incredibly slow, I have to assume it might be well to tell your potential customers what you mean.

    Hi Anne,
Looks good. But few more personal thoughts.
    1) Fact box should be eye catching with border color. It should be the center of attraction along with the services.
    2) Subscribe box can be placed towards the right corner. Add color to the buttons.
    3) Search button should be named, just to make things clear.
4)Dont give much space between the content. As you are offering services, i think the page should be very much filled.
    5) Make the heading little catchy.
6)Contact us/policy option should be there. I think this is important for this type of business.
    7) I think your service categories should stand out of your other ads.

These are some of my personal thoughts. Hope this helps.

I agree with adding a "contact us" page, privacy page, "about us" page. Twitter and Facebook links are a good idea too. This certainly has potential. Best wishes to you.
