Hi Everyone, Sandy here..

I need to find the sites that offer, already made up,
Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, And Disclaimers..

Anyone able to direct me to these sites?

Thanks,
Sandy

    Hi Sandy -

Assuming you want a 'legitimate' version, check out: Internet Lawyer and Business Attorney - Texas (no affiliate link there). He has what you are looking for.

Glad to see you do not want to just find something online that someone else is using and use that.

    Thanks.
    Paul.

Not gonna lie, I just stole someones a long time ago and have changed it to my needs forever since. They all say the same exact thing, just go through it, change it some to your liking and use it. No one really cares unless it's specific to THAT particular website/product.

OR you could pay an attorney to do it, which can be costly depending on the time it takes to finish.

You can go buy rights to a "ToS" but odds are they just looked at someones and re-wrote it so they could sell it.

Will, you made a huge mistake and I'll tell you why:

First, you apparently missed the Warrior who did just what you did and ended up paying thousands of dollars for copyright infringement. Those legal terms you copied are copyrighted.

Second, they do NOT all say the same thing. One word - just one word - can be the difference between night and day.

Years ago I created the Webmaster's Legal Guide for Warriors because I saw common mistakes being made over and over. In one lawsuit my law office saw a one word mistake in legal terms cost a company $500,000.

You may think terms are all the same. But then again, you're an amateur making assumptions and do not know the legal ramifications of what you are looking at - not to mention not understanding that something may be missing.

Third, you're assuming whatever you copied from will work for your site. You may also be assuming terms from some big company are good to use.

Those are very wrong assumptions. I've had cases against some of the biggest companies in the world arising out of website terms. The fact is in house attorneys have a million things to worry about. Everything from employee disputes to SEC investigations to antitrust matters to bribes in third world countries. They have some of the worst terms. At least until something happens and then they decide they want someone with expertise about Internet issues to help guide them.

Fourth, who cares if you "like" something. All that matters with legal terms is their effect. That is the wrong criteria to be using.

Ok well I wasn't looking to be "attacked", probably should have gone into more detail into what I was saying. It is pretty late at night, so that's my bad. But basically what I meant was I originally looked at someone's terms who had a similar type of site.

Read through it, rewrote whatever affected/did not affect me, and then read it again for a "check".

I merely was saying you don't necessarily HAVE to get an attorney to do it, although it is a good idea depending on whatever you're doing.

And while yes they do not all say the same thing, it's the similar idea. I was going off complete generics when I probably shouldn't have, sorry about that.

          Hey Everybody, It's me again..

Wow, Thanks Paul, Will, & kindsvater.
          All interesting concepts.

But, I was actually asking for the URLs of websites
who actually do this kind of thing for others.
Allowing folks online to make these documents for their
          own websites for free.

I've seen them around, but I just can't recall
          where they're located.

Anyone else actually have locations where I can get them?

          Thanks again for your input,
          Sandy
