What now?

Hi all,

I started a Yahoo group yesterday, to build a targeted list of wedding customers. I have got it looking pretty, I have included a contest where you just have to join to enter, I have been posting my link on wedding forums and have been twittering like crazy.
So far, I have one member who has joined. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get more members? I am also listed in the Yahoo groups directory.

    If you haven't already done this: On the forums you are advertising on, make sure to put a link to that page as your signature, and then just help as many people as you can with GREAT information. Help them with their problems. People will see this, become interested in what you have to say, and start clicking that link. The more popular the thread, the more people will click.

    There are a million other ways, but if you love interacting with people, this is the way to go.

    thanks TheSteve, I will keep soldiering on, I am very impatient and tend to lose focus. This time I have a great site, and want to capitalise on it, so will put my blinkers on and keep going

      Take a look at the Knot-dot-com, also iVillage, CafeMom. Many of the wedding and fashion magazines have forums you can post in to build traffic. Post in their forums.
      Find as many wedding forums as you can to build a reputation and a following.

        thanks for the tip, I have been posting on Bridal Tweet all day, with no luck so far, I will try the ones you mentioned also

    Join as many groups as possible and send them interesting emails.

    Make also sure that the groups you join are related to your target niche.
