What should I do? Sales page vs product review

I am setting up a niche site for a physical product. I wonder if I should do a long 1 page sales letter or a product review site which reviews my product and couple of other products. (of course, my product will have the highest rating).

Does anyone have experiences on which one converts better?

It costs a few hundred for me to have someone to write the content for each type. Right now, I can't afford having both... really need some help here

Thanks a lot!!

It should be a mix of both.
Remember that people are not interested in features, they are interested in solving a certain problem. So, if you can describe a problem AND the solution (maybe based on your own experience!) then that should be selling.
As to writing articles. Did you take a look at fiverr.com? There are people there who write fine articles for $5. You can then take that article and spin it for your own use.

Sooner or later, you really need both, because the buying process rarely goes "Product Review -> Buy" rather than "Product Review -> Landing Page -> Buy". As a good sales letter is much harder to write than a product review (at least in my opinion), if you have to decide, I would pay for the sales letter and write the review myself. Even if you don't have much writing experience yet, this shouldn't be too hard. Just take a look at other successful review pages and copy what they are doing. Fake it till you make it! ;-)

    Hope that helps,
