Nobody Talks About Webstarts

Im Thinking of creating websites for offline clients with webstarts but in the IM world nobody is talking about them.

People talk about Joomla, Weebly etc

But i like webstarts more

Is there a reason, are there any downfalls with webstarts??

Probably because Java is more difficult to learn than HTML and PHP, and why bother when there's WordPress. Most business owners who know nothing about web building want something easy, not complicated.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the Java application, but you must be talking about something else. Do you have a link?

That's a good question. I've never heard of them but I just checked out the site and it looks pretty cool.

Is it easy to add content to the sites?

Perhaps one main reason no one talks about it is that everyone here seems to be pretty keen on wordpress and wordpress has all those nifty plugins and easy to use CMS.

      Yeah it was very easy.
And yes i know people like wordpress but they like sites like weebly and joomla to but for me its seems that webstarts is much easier to use and today was the first time i used it.

And believe me i aint good at building websites at all.

    Never heard of them.

But just watched their video and it looks cool and cheap. Except they need to update their video and replace MSN with Bing.

Its hard to tell though without using it. Does it work like on the video? Does it produce crappy code? Is it hard to use?

But if you do get offline clients that you use this for and it is harder to use than WP then you are creating more job security for yourself since you are harder to replace to run their site.

I think its much easier to use no C-panel noting just choose a template add content or pictures change tabs is very easy.

Looking at some of the example sites, there may be a problem with the code it produces. None of the sites I looked at passed validation.

For fast and easy websites where a database isn't needed, say 5-50 pages, I like Get-Simple or gpEasy.
