The Easiest $5 I've ever made!

Seasons Greetings, Warriors!

I just wanted to share with you, by far, the easiest $5 I've made online.

I understand that $5 isn't a lot but you'll see with this process that it's dead simple to rinse and repeat meaning that $5 will significantly increase month on month.

I simply downloaded a copyright free report from the public domain and published it to the Amazon DTP Kindle store.

Low and behold, I logged in today and I've made $5 in royalties!

Total Time: Roughly 10 Mins.

The beauty of the Kindle Publishing platform is that I'll be selling that ebook month after month so the more content I add, the more royalties I receive.

Just wanted to throw this out there...

~Russ

They don't have to be unique. You either need the resell rights to the product or have permission from the copyright owner.

In my instance, I have permission from the original copyright owner, even though it's in the public domain.

I simply contacted the original author.

Other marketers are using PLR articles, ebooks and reports for Kindle publishing and that's fine.

and the copyright owner agreed? would that be typical of other original authors or copyright owners? No, I guess. Please advise. Thanks

You must not be familiar with public domain work. This is work that can be freely shared and sold as the copyright on it has expired.

If it's public domain why do you need resell rights or permission from the copyright owner? I would think they would be no copyright owner in the first place if it's public domain. Thanks for sharing, this is a method

Not at all, you can list all the public domain work you want at the Kindle store.

I have about 100 reports with resale rights and about 25 ebooks laying on my PC!

I will upload these ebooks and some longer reports there and see if your technique really works.

    Thanks!

    Congrats!

I personally haven't tried this method, but I've heard that Amazon is getting tons of garbage ebooks that take up space (and search results).

From the person I heard this from, they recommended promoting your book outside of Amazon (press releases, articles, etc.)

So unless you're in a very specific niche, it can be hard to drive customers right to your ebook without outside promotions.

You wouldn't believe how TRUE this is.

I've been publishing on the Kindle for some time now after starting with CreateSpace....and it is literally unreal how much useless CRAP is uploaded to Amazon by people thinking they are going to make a fortune with Kindle.

Sadly, much of this stems from so-called "experts" who are telling (or should I say selling) people on the idea that they can just upload crappy PLR with crappy covers and crappy formatting....and then just wait for the MONEY to start rolling in.

I'm not saying PLR is all crap....but the idea you can take a generic PLR product with a cheesy IM ecover and upload it to Amazon via KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing)....and sit back and make a passive income fortune is frankly a bunch of BS.

This way of doing business is also extremely short-sighted and your typical get-rich-quick-with-ZERO-work mentality.

The FACT is that you may sell a couple of these crappy books on Kindle, but it's only a matter of time before the honest reviews start to build up...and one or more of those can absolutely KILL your sales on Amazon. Especially if your product already has an amateurish look (like it was designed by a 6 year old), like many of these do.

Sorry to get riled up, but watching this growing trend of what is basically Amazon "spam" is annoying for someone who has built up a nice little publishing business thru Amazon's print and digital services.

What's the time taken for that $5? How long did the money come in after you published it?

what did you do to promote the kindle ebook?
I published several e books on the amazon digital platform (unique, in the cooking niche) but haven't made any sales yet, however, I don't do anything special to promote them either, so this is not a big surprise

I think that with publishing on Kindle a lot is going to depend on the title/subject matter of your book as well as the niche. Publishing on Kindle is more of a numbers game, and you really should publish multiple books on there on a regular basis, if your goal is to earn a consistent and appreciable amount of income.

I have uploaded a book and it is in the Review stage, 24 to 48 hours approximately.

here is a quote that I got after I uploaded

"Your book is currently under review by the Kindle Operations team as we are trying to improve the Kindle customer experience. The Kindle Store requires approximately 24 hours for English and 2-3 business days for other languages to make your content available for purchase. This will not affect any titles you are currently selling in the store, but uploading updates to existing titles will take longer to process. "

I'll just have to wait to see what happens next.

And hopefully I will start seeing $5 rolling in Over and over again

it's very easy to publish books on kindle.. i thnk hat every PLR ebook that currently exists is already published there. people didn't even care to edit the cover
However, publishing the book is the easy part.. you create a cover, upload the book, and wait for 24 hours, and the book goes live.
BUT...selling the book is something else.
I have several books published and not a single sale yet.
It's not just about the title of your book, there is something called "tagging" on the amazon platform, and it works similar to backlinks in Google.
The more tags your books get, the higher they appear in amazon search results.
