Its much better to put it as a business page. If you make it a community page when people go it then it automatically defaults to the wall. However, if you create it as a business page then you can choose which page the person lands on and have the ability to add a welcome page with a video/opt in box or anything else you like.

    Hope this helps.

A community page will not allow you any control over the page. You can not set custom tabs, you cannot post updates to your fans, and so on. They are designed for topics that are general in nature and not business related. Definitely create a business page otherwise it's all a waste of time.

        Yes- Will said it best!

'A community page will not allow you any control over the page"

Especially, because it automatically defaults to the Wall, you are unable to draw visitor's attention to a custom welcome tab.

It seems as if many people select the Community category, not realizing its inherent drawback. Now you won't be one of those people.

Unfortunately, the only time when they realize that it is a Community Page is when I tell them that their community page does not have the custom landing tab feature.
