I bought a 1 TB external hard disk as i had suffered from the data loss when my laptop's hard disk crashed last year and i ended up losing the data. Atleast, i have peace of mind now that all my data is regularly synchronized and i have backup.
The best software i bought was SEnuke. It speeds up the processes.

Flexsqueeze theme, hands down. Best thing I bought last year. I relly like how quickly I can put up a site that looks good. And I don't have to be a CSS expert in order to get results with it.

Some CSS knowledge is a big help, but I would rather spend my time on making sites and promoting them.

My two most recent purchases were Scrapebox (I need to learn how to use it more easily!) and Backlink Energizer.

BE is pretty simple to set up and frankly, I'm looking forward to Google's spiders beginning to access the blog networks more frequently so that indexing of links goes more quickly/easily. It's like a really, really good autoblogger as well.

I'm gonna say my lightweight, flexible, flat bottomed shoes that I use when I go for walks.

They help me focus on every step I take so I can clear my mind each day from the massive amounts of info & decisions I'm try to process.

About 10 minutes into the walk... my mind is clear and I start picturing nut & bolt answers to the projects & tasks I've been working on all day.

I know that's not the normal kind of "tool" you're probably looking for... but it's helped me a lot this year.

I got a Zi8 a couple of weeks ago and am really pleased with it. Very easy to use and quality is excellent. Well worth investing in... especially as you can pick it up on Amazon for around £75.

I managed to talk the missus into letting me get a 42 inch! For the "Business" of course!! It is very handy to have multiple programs up side by side rather than clicking back and forth!

The Web Studio 5 Web Builder/editor, truly one fine piece of software with "everythink" at your fingertips. For 4 years I used one webhost and one html editor (theirs) until I needed something better that they wouldn't/couldn't supply - at a price Web Studio5 was the answer to all my problems except one. I add One Time Offers to JV Giveaways and the only software I found that creates the images that's compatible is a FREE one called My Free Website Builder - amazing little addition.
