How to protect your wordpress page made specifically for paying customers.

I am in the process of creating an info product and I have a question for you Warriors that may know the answer to these questions.

I am creating a download page on my self hosted Wordpress blog that only paying customers can access. I am gonna be submitting this product to Rapbank for approval hopefully at the end of the week.

My question is if it is a Wordpress page. How do I secure it so only paying customers can have access to it? I really do not want to create a membership site because it is only a one time payment product.

Another question? If I am making a new page designed specifically for this do I have to publish that page? I would assume I would but then it will be indexed and any John Doe can have access to my content for free which I do not want.

I want to make this as easy and painless as possible submit my product to Rapbank. The paying customer gets my download link for the product end of story.

Without people being able to gain access for free. You guys or girls have any suggestions? Is there a free plugin out there? What are your suggestions? Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!

Not the best way to go but......

Each post you can set a password on in the editor. Set a password.

Give your paid members the password.
    Signature

My free PSD logs can be downloaded at PSD Bum. Enjoy!

If you are going to use RAP Bank, than you need not to worry about it.

Simply create your download page and publish it as you normally would. When you list your product via Rap Bank they give you a code (comes in the pdf they give to install the plugin) that you put on your download page and then only people who paid for the product will be able to see the download page and outsiders will only view an empty page.

Its something like [rbdownload] and [/rbdownload] that you have to place around your downloadable content. and outside of these tags, you can have a blurb telling that this material is only viewed by paying customers. If you have paid and can't access the download page, simply email.... or open a support ticket blah blah...

    Hope it helps,
    Maddi

One novel approach I read about (but haven't tried since I don't need it) is to include the download link in a post that is scheduled far in the future. It won't turn up when searching since it hasn't been posted, but apparently it has a URL that can still be viewed.

    No password protection needed.

You can use the noindex meta tag to keep the page from being indexed.

There is a free wordpress plugin which allows you to show a specific post/page text body only after payment has been done through Paypal.

I can't remember the name of the plugin now, but something might turn up if you search for it.
