Do These 4 Simple Things And Watch Your Income Explode In 2011

Hey Warriors, it's the end of the year and you are probably thinking of ways to increase your revenue in 2011 so I thought I'll post 4 simple things you can do to help you achieve your goals. Please don't underestimate the simplicity of this as it is really powerful if applied of course.

1. Check your email once or maybe twice per day but NO MORE!

2. Check your sales stats, Analytics, SEO rankings, PPC stats etc ONCE per day and no more.

3. Visit the Warrior forum no more than twice per day ( I said twice cause the WF is special and deserves an extra visit)

4. If you have any other sites you visit daily such as Facebook or Myspace etc visit those sites ONCE per day and no more.

Now, for most of us including myself the activities I just mentioned takes up the vast majority of our daily time on the PC and it's one big waste. It should only take you maybe an hour or less per day to go through steps 1 - 4 and you will then be forced to spend the rest of your time on the computer to do things that actually makes you money and grow your business.

I am very guilty of wasting massive amounts of time every day on checking emails, this forum, checking my Google rankings blah blah.. If I followed these 4 simple steps in 2010 I would have at least triple the business I have right now and I am sure most of you can say the same.

So for 2011 force yourself to cut out all those time wasting activities and focus more on doing productive things like building sites, back links, creating products, driving traffic or whatever it is that's making you money because that is the bottom line. You might spend 4 hours a day online but I bet you only get about an hour of real work done each day. It's a waste and I'm sure you get the point so here's to a prosperous and more productive 2011 for us all.

Cheers,

Jan

Great post, in 2011 I personally intend to move back to a daily schedule.

Not necessarily a 9-5 as I'd like to work 10-12 hours per day, then maybe spend the other 4-6 hours I'm awake watching TV, surfing the Warrior Forum and spending time with friends/family etc

This random BS that I'm up to daily has to stop, when you're making lots of money it camouflages bad habits.

I will be bringing someone in to come and enforce my schedule daily, probably will get hold of a student and give them access to all my facilities, in exchange for checking up on me every 30 minutes.

    Good old forced accountability

I already do this, but this is great advice for those who find themselves distracted by the time wasters. Just remember, you've only got so many hours in the day to get the important stuff done.

Funny thing is that I need to drink my own cool aid next year and hopefully by posting this I will help others and myself. I struggle with this a lot. It's so easy to get distracted from writing that blog post or whatever and just go check your email or your aff stats etc. In the end of the day I am only trying to fool myself in believing I put 4 hours of work on the PC but in the mean time I did like 45 minutes of real work only.

Continued success to you too and have a great 2011.

      Cheers

Facebook is a black hole for me - thanks for the valuable reminder. Sometimes I say to myself, "Is what I'm doing right now going to benefit me in the long run?" If the answer is no, then switch to a more effective task.

    great advice.

i try to check WF twice a day but no more than that. this place is addictive and you can spend all day and night reading what everyone is thinking.

really; can't some of you be boring?

Great advice, Jan. When I first started out selling my own products and also doing CPA marketing, my downfall was checking my email and CPA accounts for payments/conversions every few minutes or so. My CPA account was especially addictive, as I'd have my page open in a tab on my browser and keep refreshing it all the time to see how much my income had gone up. (To make matters worse, I had several CPA account pages open, since I don't only use one account!)

Obviously, this was really useless and took away from my productive activity, but I have whittled down all the statistics checking to about 3-4 times a day. I should shoot for no more than 2 per day, but I've made enormous progress this year! I'll keep working on eliminating these bad habits in 2011, and try to adhere more to the 80/20 rule.

I think I might actually be addicted to "checking" my stuff, recently I can't seem to help myself and have been checking my email, clickbank, adsense, aweber accounts... many times a day and the worst thing about it is I know what a complete waste of time it is.

Tomorrow it's going to be once a day, I'll check each account but only once.

I'll try my best to stick to this new time saving regime.

      Thanks for the reminder

Lee, i you have issues with "checking" your stuff online, I highly recommend using this free add-on for Firefox called Leechblock that allows you to limit browsing of predefined sites -

I know exactly what you mean Paulie I am the same way. That's one other thing I like about Amazon, they only update your sales once per day so I don't find myself checking for sales every 5 minutes like a mad man. lol

      Cheers

Simple, yet effective! I do tend to waste a lot of time on the internet or on the pc in general. I need to learn how to focus.
A tip, I've read before is to use a good ol kitchen timer and set it for 1 hour. Eliminate distractions and work on producing results during that hour.

  • That is great advise!! I know I definitely need to follow it so I can be more productive in 2011!! Thanks and Happy New Year!

So simple but so effective. I have been way too much of a procrastinator with all things IM over the past year. Time to regroup and refocus. Thanks for the reminder!

Thank you Jan - the best advice I've heard in a long time. I too am very guilty of wasting far too much time on these things and really need to stop. So starting Saturday - 2011 - I am going to follow your times and check everything once or twice a day!

Great Advice ! I already knew this, but its a good reminder to read it again !
Focus more on action that will get your business moving ! Its easy to get stuck in the mode of checking the other stuff for some because of a fear of failure ! I have been there before !

Nice post... I learn because I have a little leak of productivity in this 4 thing.

Just... is it considered as an article? What actually a discussion really is? It says cheers at the bottom and hi at the beginning. So I'm sure that this is discussion...

But the content looks like article....

This confusion discouraging me to create thread like this...
