DON'T Deliver Your Product via Email!

Don't you dare SELL me something and then deliver it over time via email!

To start with, the SPAM filters catch your ****, and then you don't email me often enough with a proper Title for me to notice it and I miss half of your stuff because I ain't gonna read all those emails.

email is ok for building a list, but give your paying customers a download or a membership URL, and even if you do that, remind them of the URl they paid for in every promotional post to your list.

"just my two cents"

I have seen several marketers take you to the download page immediately but also send you the link through email to be sure you got there. Sometimes they also send a reminder email. But I don't see the later as often !

Completly agree. I used to use my very own mail delivery system. I made it a while ago with php and mysql, nothing fancy but It's pretty common that most web mail readers (yahoo, hotmail, gmail) treat them as spam. It gets really bad for you when your client don't see his product on his inbox.

Like Ouroboros suggested, the best bet is to provide a link for their download, preferably just after he paid and on the thank you page. Just remember to protect your content from being indexed by the search engines, and to make it difficult, you don't want a random kid just searching the code and extracting the download link
