Opt-in list numbers...

Hello dear Warriors,

I have been using Aweber for email marketing for some time. I was wondering about good statistical numbers about this. For example;

My optin list conversion (people who opt in) is around 30%.
My email open rate is also around 30%.

Are those good numbers? I am fully aware that it would depend from niche to niche, but maybe not that much?

Thanks for any info.

Obviously those are great numbers,,seems your doing good with list building.
Yes..depends on the niche but anything more than 25% can consider as a good opt-in and open rate.

Yeah those are awesome numbers. A 30% open rate! Where is your site? I'm curious to see how/what you are doing if you don't mind sharing.

My open rate is about 30% too.

I guess it's all about the subject line being enough of a teaser.

Yes, like everyone else said, 30% is great. I think it's a combination of teaser subjects and building trust in your list. Also, not spamming too much and having a good niche topic. I think it does depend hugely on the niche, but even more it depends on your building techniques. Any tips for the rest of us?

Keep your content focused on solving the problem - don't go off topic.

Mail out at least once a week and make sure you're providing killer free content.

Send out one promotional email per 3 killer content emails.

      Build trust.

Thanks, dear Warriors. If these are indeed great numbers I'd be more than happy to share you what I am doing. Maybe I'll create another thread about it? I love to give back to this forum, as you'll see from my Posts/Thanked Times/Thanked Posts ratios.

Wow! Those are pretty friggin good! I personally average around 23% up to 32% open rate. The subject line absolutely has everything to do with it. Most of these people are probably receiving other emails from same niche. The email with the best subject line stands out wins the open!

What I have noticed is that people are more curious to open emails with subject lines with the "FWD:" sign. Seems like people like to forward emails. Also using smiley faces and low caps seems to improve open rates.

    Great numbers man.
I used to have a 23% optin rate when I've copied one of the templates used by most of the "gurus" in the IM niche.

Then I've started to use very minimalistic optin pages like Dave Mizrahi uses on his dating website and now im converting at around 45%. The page looks like sh*t: headline + email form. no name. that's it.

Open rates vary from 20% to 30%. I'm happy with that and it's hard to be a ninja copywriter when you come from eastern europe

I firmly believe that squeeze pages should be short and to the point. Video is always good.
