Stupid Question...[wordpress] but where the heck am I going wrong...

Hey guys n gals,...ok this is stupid because I have amazingly been doing well for some of my niche seo blog...but foolishly never ever bothered to look at my sites description that is being pulled up in serps

example am position no.1 on google.com for keyword 'x'

which is great! but I realised my description sucks!

The Title is good, subsitite is good and showing as is..but the 2 line description before a google searcher clicks seems to be pulled out of random plages on the blog itself ...(and that is also true for multiuple sub pages and so on)...

so am kinda confused..is there specific settings (besides title and sub tagline title) that we can edit and control in wp?..if so..where is it guys cus i'cant find it!!

    Solution:search for an SEO plugin. Install and enable the highest rated one. Make sure you configure it in its options. If you have a caching plugin disable it temporarily. You can now update your page description from within Wordpress (below the content when you edit)and now go to your page,refresh and look at its source code. You should have the new description

    If you have problems with a plugin get rid of it and go to the next hihest rated one.

    I, too, will be interested in seeing what replies you get.

    One suggestion, if you are using All In One SEO, you can add a Home page description to your site, along with Home page keywords.

    Waseem, if you'd like, you can PM me with your email and I'll send you a report I wrote on Wordpress. I explain how to install and configure the "All in One SEO" plug in, and how to post an article. After that plug in is installed, when you're getting ready to post an article, a field will be on that page for you to enter the text the the search engines will show in the SERPs.
