Has Anyone Else Noticed the Sudden Disappearance of Go Codes and Simple Link Cloaker? What Gives?

What happened to all the link cloaking plugins in the Wordpress plugin directory?

Anyone hear anything?

    Thanks royj (wherever you went :confused: )... Go Codes is there, it turns out -- looks like you have to search the directory as one word 'GoCodes' and it comes up.

    Still odd that nothing, and I mean nothing comes up anymore when you search the Wordpress plugin directory for a link cloaker -- there used to be tons.

    WordPress is no longer permitting cloaking plugins in their repository - don't know why but it started around three months ago.

    There's a lot of info if you search for it . . . here's an explanation for the Pretty Links plugin change . . .

      That would about coincide with the new FTC regulations...

      I'd call it self-preservation on the part of WordPress...



      As to the other guy who disappeared, he got banned...



      If you are not going to do a lot of cloaking, htaccess redirects is still one of the best ways to go.
