eBay Closed my account, Why ??

I'm from Romania and today I've made my first eBay, I entered my paypal information and I listed an item for sale. After 5 minutes my item was removed and my account was suspended. Here is what they send in my mail:

Unfortunately, we had to remove your listing because the following information violates our policy:

You may need to take a tutorial. The next time you sell, you may be asked to take the tutorial, if it's required. Once you've completed the tutorial successfully, please review your account status for any other possible concerns. If there are no other issues, you should be able to sell again.

Please note: violation of this or other eBay policies may result in forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings, limits on account privileges and account suspension.

And now they asking me for a lot of documents :
- A copy of a government issued Photo ID that shows your name and
address.
- A copy of a recent bill clearly showing your name and billing
address.
One of the following documents to verify your identity (must be
current):
- Driver License (copy of both front and back)
- Passport
- Military ID
- National/Federal ID card
One of the following documents to verify your address (must be recent):
- Bank statements, including loan/mortgage statements
- Credit card statements
- Utility bills (phone, power, water, etc.)
- Insurance bills and statements

And best of all they wanted on fax !

If I wasn't from Romania they hat asked for this??? And if I will send this documents through mail they will activate my account?

Just provide the info they require and they probably reopen your account.

It's quite normal for ebay/paypal to be restrictive towards some countries. It's not fair though

When I lived in AZ I used to sell on Ebay and lost a bunch of money too. They are very strict, they shut my account and paypal account too. So my advice is just give them what they're asking you.

Yeah they can be pretty picky about their policies.

With so many users though, can you blame them for wanting to cover their own you know what?

If it's any consolation, I am from the UK and I remember that years ago when I first started selling on Ebay, they asked me to fax them the exact same documents as yours.

    ... It's nothing personal...

Same thing happened with me and Im from the US. They gave me 48 hours to give them the documents or they said they would suspend my account. I faxed them over and have had no problems since.

They clearly stated you violated their policies. If you hadn't violated their policies your account probably would not have been suspended. Why try to make it into anything else? You have to play by their rules, if you don't (and apparently you didn't) your account gets suspended. There is no mystery to that.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.
