if you have the opportunity, money, privilege...is...

To me, I would like to learn every damn thing about Video Marketing.

Why? I have fallen in love with videos, visuals.

What is that one IM skill you would be glad to learn in 2011 whether paid or betterstil, free?

I'd like to be able to type with more than one finger - everything else would benefit then. Every year I promise myself I'll take time out to teach myself to do it, but it comes so unnaturally to me that in the end it just seems quicker and easier to keep my index finger busy. Maybe in 2011

Hi Diana, you type with your index fingers.. that's weird because I type with most of my fingers, but it's natural as I have seen some pro typists who do the same as you do. You are comfortable with what you are doing now.

But I would suggest you to start typing naturally from today, don't leave it for the next year.

    Copywriting

This is something I've been interested in for a while, but over the last few months that interest has grown exponentially. I've been reading the copywriting forum a lot lately, signed up for many copywriter's lists, and I find myself spending most of my off time reading books and websites on the subject.

I'd like to be able to learn to write 5 articles a day, for article marketing. As this target escapes me!

Article writing. I really need to start learning to write good articles myself and stop outsourcing until I make money with my own articles. Not only does it help me in IM but also in school. I have no idea what to do that can help me to write better but I've been doing reading more than I used to. Hopefully it works.

There was a recent suggestion by Bruce Richards, which I had heard before, but never practiced myself. The suggestion is to find someone whose writing you find exceptional, sign up to their list, and then start handwriting (copying) everything they send you.

The theory is it helps ingrain the patterns of writing you are copying, so it begins to be second nature.

Do a search for Bruce_Richards on the forum, read some of his recent posts, and you will believe he is a natural English speaker and writer, which he is not. He followed this practice and believes it is responsible for improving his writing skills dramatically.

As I said, I have never tried this myself, but I do believe it would be more powerful than just reading good writing. (I do re-write and re-type materials I want to lock into my memory deeply, it is quite effective.)

Congrats on your efforts to improve your writing.

      Now....What I want to improve...

I want to become a master of LEVERAGE. Becoming consistent in leveraging every effort and piece of content I create for maximum results and time savings. (See Paul, you're still stuck in my head, that crazy book "Need to Know".)

Along these lines - read Chapter 6 of TALENT IS OVERRATED by Geoff Colvin. It tells you how Benjamin Franklin learned to write....there's about 3 to 4 pages in that chapter which you could extract and turn into a detailed step by step plan to improve your writing.

You should get the book anyway - it's the best of the 'talent' books and how to get better at something out there IMO.

Let me get you started today:

home keys and the home row - lesson one

WARNING: Once others know you can type faster than them, they suddenly need you for all their typing. I recommend you keep the quick typing to yourself and don't tell a soul once you learn it. Typing with both hands is most certainly faster and more efficient. You don't need to look at the keyboard and you don't have to think about where the keys are. It just happens as you think once you get into it.

I don't think there's much danger of me typing faster than others any time soon, but I've resolved that this time next year I will be typing with a a least three fingers. Sixty words a minute instead of twenty - wow

I'll love to learn how to do PPC and video marketing I'll be getting into.
    Same as Ryu said.

I will be focusing more on creating video tutorials on ThesisTheme + wordpress. That brought the most traffic for my business; will try to creat at least 4 new tutorials a week and more.

Would you be able to drive more traffic if you could...

    Write more compelling content?
    Perfect split testing techniques?
    Create more attention grabbing banners?
    Create higher quality videos?
    Network more efficiently?
    etc...

See what I'm saying? Traffic is a result of other skills, not a skill its self. Determine your real goals, improve those skills, and you'll get the traffic you're after.
