"Internet Marketer of the Year Award" Goes to...

Hey folks!

I am working on a project with some fine peeps and would love your help. It would be very much appreciated.

It is a simple Question:

Who would you consider as the top marketer of the year? It could be the best information product that you purchased in a wso or launch that helped you increase profits or quit your job.

We don't really need your favorite tools or wp-plugins of the year, but more along the lines of quality information or support that helped you take it to the next level.

Thanks in advance for your help. And please add in your comments why you chose the particular marketer or product.

Thanks!

        I nominate:

Oz - because because because because because ...because of the wonderful things he does! And because his content is superbly researched and surprising and his plug-in is simply amazing

Brad Gosse - because he is a mentor to the stars, and a WSO rock star in his own right

Andy Fletcher - because of DigiResults, which will knock off Clickbank hopefully soon

Bryan Kumar - because I had to have at least one old timer here...

Daniel Tan - because his content is also top notch, and I love his SEO plugin as well

Mike Cowles - because of him I now know how to actually do my own WSO, which I will be doing very soon.

If they are not turning over at least $100 million per year, I doubt they would qualify for internet marketer of the year. Perhaps salesperson of the year (sales and marketing are mixed up).

So to answer the question, lets first define what marketing is. Classically, it is the 4P's - the product, the price, the promotion and the place (also known as the distribution channel). To be the best marketer, you would have to an an innovator, a industry leader and have developed a recognized brand (good test for this - ask your grandmother "have you heard of xxxxxx").

My choice would be - Eric Schmidt.

So why the head of Google? Because once your product matures and the market expands with other players, that is when your marketing skills are genuinely tested.

The award should definitely go to......

......that marketer who has worked their tail off, finally quit their job, and no one knows about them because they don't market to the MMO niche!

Like I've said for years, for every John Reese or Willie Crawford, there are 100 others like them that you've never heard of because that's the way they like it.

I will vote for the little guy who quietly works away for little or no fanfare, the underdog, who is not famous, who gets rolled and pounded into the dust and then stands up again and starts to learn again quietly, there are a lot of them and they form the backbone that allows this giant known as IM to stand as tall as it does.

The award goes to every sincere marketer who tired honestly and kept their mind and brain in place while carrying out the effort.

A giant can happen only if and when a middle tier cluster happens. A middle tier cluster can happen only if people - all the nobody-s - try.

My tribute goes to those people who are "nobody" in IM but are trying their sincere level best honestly.

Thanks all who have contributed who has personally helped them the most in this past year. For some of the comments it is very true that the nobody we have never heard of are some of the best trail blazers and hard workers innovating and making moves. If that is the person who inspires you? Awesome!! They inspire me too. Even in the offline world the same.

But I am more going along the lines in this post of people that have actually HELPED you personally the most in the past year. There are some really sincere folks on here that aren't out to just profit from us. Some have made me a lot of money either from sharing there vast experience in a course, giving a strategy, or offering me support.

They are no better than you or I for sure. They have tried to be there own trailblazer and worked there arses off

Thanks all again!! I really appreciate the awesome comments!

How about a marketer who has exploded to around a million bucks this year...!!

            Jack Mize!

He's taken a ton of marketers who have struggled for years and helped many earn money with offline marketing consulting. His customers dig him, follow him closely and he treats them right.

In one year, I believe he's built about a million dollar online business in this market from scratch. Him and Dave Foran have created a tremendous webinar system for teaching people and marketing to people in this community with great success. They have that webinar system dialed in.

He's a great example of how important it is to focus on ONE system and master it to the point it spits out consistent, ongoing income (cash flow).

And using Jack as an example...

Many of the people I see failing online never fully "commit" to one system. In fact, I never see people committing to anything really (not 100% commitment). Jack did that.

Another example (I'm just breaking down why I think he succeeded) is...

He focused on creating assets. He started with no list and now has a solid responsive list. That's an asset that will make him money for a long time to come. He focused on creating a solid product with tons of case studies, proof factors, social proof and solid content. That's an asset that will make him money for a long time to come.

he built relationships with other key individuals in this market. That's an asset that will make him money for a long time to come.

            I could go on.

All in all, of course I'm bragging about a friend but he really is a great example of what a lot of people in this market can model and follow to achieve their own success online.

            Way To Go Jack!

            Eric Louviere

Odd thing about this topic. If you look at threads here - the opinion of "who is important" or "who is best" changes rather drastically depending on whether the person opining is brand new, just getting started, gaining traction or long term experience of their own.

There are marketers with great incomes selling newbie materials (some good, some bad) that have almost become evergreen. I see new members here ask about products that hit the market years ago - but the advertising is so well positioned the product keeps selling to new marketers year after year.

These folks will rattle of those same high-profile names - because they bought those products. Everyone goes through phases - the more you know and the more you accomplish....the better you understand who is and is not a great marketer.

Often the names suggested by those with years of experience will be names some won't recognize.

My view of marketer of the year isn't someone who made the biggest splash, or had the most ads or products. Ron Douglas is a good suggestion - he received national recognition in 2010 - great stuff.

I recommended Allen because that is the ideal for me. Good income, hands off when he wants, chooses his own lifestyle, travels at will - without the necessity to constantly push, advertise, launch, etc. You are at the top when you do something you like on your own terms and live well.

I guess another name I'd nominate is John Reese. We all say the goal is to create an income and have freedom. You can't get any more free than putting your business on auto-pilot and taking a year off, can you?

Thanks for the mention, folks! You're too kind.

I honestly don't deserve the award...not for 2010 anyway. LOL

I didn't do anywhere near as much damage as I wanted to, or could have.

But this year...oh, this year, I plan on givin' 'em a little competition. ;-)

As for 2010, I'm with Suzanne. I think Allen gets it...for opening up the advertising opportunity, in this forum, for all us Warriors.

    That was a kickass move!

I think that to find the best of the best, you'd need to ask companies like Google, AT&T and other giant companies that are making billions thanks to people behind their marketing strategies. I suppose some of the agencies, and even in-house marketing experts in those companies are the truly best ones.

As for the work-from-home marketers, which is probably what you had in mind, my vote goes to James Stein of Article Productions. Yep, controversial he is, but his tools and advice is what finally made be get the things move forward.

Without question or hesitation these are the people who have helped me the most, particularly during 2010 when all the pieces of the puzzle came together to help me successfully launch my own product as well as buy licences to really top quality products. One expert (Bill Myers) I would say deserves to rank highest in any year, including 2010.

Bill Myers at bmyers.com - pure, unadulterated, practical and useful content and he never fails to over-deliver. Don't know of another true "guru" (Andrew Reynolds excepted) who responds personally and oh so promptly (by return, usually) to one's emails, even when not a member of his site.

He never "sells" to one but I have bought every product he's created and have never been disappointed with any product that he's promoted in his inimitably gentle and subtle way. Do you know of another membership site packed with goodies for under $10/m? I don't!

Jimmy D Brown - affordable and full of honest good sense. Furthermore, he challenges you to implement what he teaches - without his practical help I would never have set up one membership site, let alone more.

Andrew Reynolds at andrew-reynolds.com (taught by Bill Myers) - from debt to £60m (pound sterling) in 10 years and millionaire maker (Nick James, Time Lowe being two of his proteges). During the past four years, he's given away substantial six figure sums (in pound sterling) to the likes of "Make a Wish Foundation", Great Ormond (sp) Street Children's Hosptial, UK, The Prince's Trust and a whole host of so called "third world" charities. If successful and clever direct marketing of physical products is of interest to you, he's your man although his private coaching is not exactly cheap.

    James

I cannot believe nobody mentioned Sean Donahoe......he is brilliant, offers many solutions for internet marketers, has created a wonderful inner circle this year, and has created many solutions that anyone can use now, and offers many products that make Internet Marketing so much easier. The most practical guy you can find anywhere.

I guess thats enough.....but I have tried lots of other people and to me Sean is the best.

      Thanks!

I nominate Paul Myers. He screwed me in 2010, or is that I screwed myself, since I did not grab his info until late December, but I know 2011 just became much more interesting....

Thanks guys! This had been awesome. It is very true that it depends on where you currently are on who has helped you the most. It doesn't mean they are the best in the industry. Just the best thing since sliced bread for you personally. Yea the team at google is probable awesome, or the founder of facebook. But none of them have chatted up with me on Skype or bent over backwards to help me.

I believe that 2011 will be a year with more trail blazers making their own path and building relationships with people will be so much more important. I don't see that in most perpetual product launches and I see there effectiveness diminishing dramatically at least in the im niche.

    Thanks again folks

p.s. If you haven't put your thoughts in yet please add before I compile my list together...

It has to be Kim Roach and Chad Kimball. They do things differently and have gained my respect over the last year.

Anyone ever heard of Andrew Mason?

He is, by far, the IMer of the year!

Started Groupon in 2008, Google offered 6 Billion Dollars in 2010.

If that don't win the "IMer of the year award" nothing will.
