Random people plagiarizing my 1st Article Marketing Review Piece...Shouldn't I be pissed?!?!?!

So I registered with ArticlesBase 12/28 & my first article went live 12/29. I know its early but I conducted a search today just for kicks & I find multiple blogs that stole my ENTIRE article! I'm talking, Title and all!

[Reference removed. Site mentioned used the material according to the terms of the directory at which it was posted.]

another site I found was articles.seo41*com. (they removed my name & put someone elses)

Both of them looked to be what I consider very poorly ran blog sites.

Mind you, I am still in the infant stages of my article marketing so Im not quite sure if this is good or bad. Good, in the sense that somehow this is giving my original article, what I believe you would call, link juice-perhaps? Or bad, in the sense that people are trying to blatantly copy my work and pass it off as their own. However, if the latter is the case Im quite sure that Im not alone in that scenario.

Anyone care to shed some light?

Thanks!

No light to shed, but am wondering how this will turn out. [Removed] is operated by, at least in my assesssment, a well respected member of this forum. It's likely she will have something to say about this.

    Cheers,

You do realize that, by posting your article there, you gave anyone who wants it permission to reprint the thing, as long as they keep the proper credits intact?

Your suggestion that [removed] did something wrong is unfounded. I suggest editing your post to remove it.

Yes people can take your articles form article directories as long as they give you credit and keep your links to your site intact.

    Is that what happened, here?

Sure. As soon as you edit the unsavory implications about [removed] out of your post.

Why would you be posting your content to any site without reading the terms first? The idea that people can re-publish your material if you post it to an article directory is so basic I can't imagine anyone knowing what they are without being aware of it.

I didn't know that others can take the article and sell them as PLRs.

Boy, do I have a lot to learn about this...

But, taking someone's article, slapping your own name on it and changing the link to point to their site is pretty unethical.

I guess that's the name of the internet marketing game.

They can't. And the site referenced didn't.

I bet if you were aware of the real circumstances here, you would refrain from such statements.

The fellow who published the article and gave proper credit is not selling "it" as PLR... Yes, he sells PLR, but the article in question is not in his PLR product.

            1. I am asking a question, not making a statement. When I went to the site, I saw no blog, just PLRs for sale. Of course, I could have missed it.

            2. Here I am talking about the second one he mentioned where the person put his own name and site in place of the OP's. I still think that's unethical, but realize there's really not much you can do about it.

            My apologies for the confusion.

My apologies for misreading a question as a statement.

I did realize that your comments were focused in two directions.

The first should never have been mentioned in the OP's post, because they published the article within the Terms of Service of Articles Base. That is the company that sells PLR.

The second mentioned site looks to be in violation, but I have not yet looked at that website.

And actually there are steps the OP can take to deal with the second listed website to resolve this matter. Those steps have been described by several people on the forum.

But it remains to be seen if the OP survives the night... So everyone is going to wait to see if helping him will be a waste of their time or not.

So...should I get the popcorn ready?

One good thing about this post (for me, anyway) is that I now found what seems to be a pretty good site for PLR articles. I'm looking to buying some as my brain tends to freeze up when writing articles. I can write stories but article writing scares me for some reason.

I would have never found that site on my own.

I agree. The OP seems to have skipped reading the Terms Of Service, so I think we may be right to assume they skipped reading the whole article marketing tutorial.

Take it easy tiger!!....Yes, said site did give me credit but at the same time they are trying to solicit new customers with my work by subtly suggesting that I am a content writer for them. Which is not the case at all.

Not likely. You were corrected in civil terms, and asked to edit out the nasty and incorrect insinuation in your post. You failed to do so. That makes it deliberate. We've "edited" people right out of the forum for that.

Posting articles on their blog is not suggesting any such thing. Please point to anything on their site that suggests that the authors featured on the blog are creating the content that's for sale.

You'd better have more than a misperception to back that allegation up. I've just warned you about pushing that line.

Oh my. This is so ironic considering this post today http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-business.html.

Not trying to give you a hard time but you really should read the TOS for sites you post articles on because while Articles Base is a legit site, there are plenty of scammy ones out there. So you should always check to see what rights you're giving away.

Okay. Let me open your eyes to the in's and out's of such details.

First off, you submitted an article to ArticlesBase.com, apparently having failed to read their Terms of Service here.

When you post an article to an Article Syndication site such as ArticlesBase.com, people who find and like your article are authorized by you (yes, that is in the Terms of Service that you did not read), to post your article on their website, provided that your author information in also reprinted in full with the article.

Second, you have been advised twice to remove your comments that suggest that the above mentioned website "plagiarized" your content, when in fact, they did not.

Even you said they gave you full credit.

They took the permission you gave when you agreed to the ArticlesBase Terms of Service and used it to publish your article and to give you a chance to receive traffic from their website, because for some reason, they thought you were a smart guy who wrote a great article.

As mentioned, you have been advised twice to take the innocent party's name out of your post.

Failure to do so will result in this post being deleted, and possibly even you being deleted from this forum.

Please adhere to the recommendations that have been made to you.

Three. Log into ArticlesBase.com and delete your article to prevent other people from using it.

And I do recommend getting better acquainted with article marketing before using it again to promote your business.

If you go to this link, you can get my free article marketing ebook. It will help bring you up to speed quickly.

    It works like this...

If you add an article to an article directory, others are allowed to reuse your article as long as they leave the author information, links, author box junk and link back to the article directory intact.

If somebody takes your article and breaks one of those rules, you're on your own trying to sort it all out. The article directory really doesn't give a hoot.

The TOS for each site is a little different.

It's actually a good thing that other sites are syndicating your article (the ones that keep your resource box and links, I mean) because this gives you more opportunity to get more people reading your article as well as more backlinks to your site.

This is actually the whole point of submitting your articles to the article directories although many people these days seem to miss this point.

Could it be that there is so much emphasis put on writing and posting articles but not enough information on why it's being done in the first place? Little details lost over time and taken for granted.
