Best domain for Europe .eu or per country?

I market a physical product in Germany and use a .de web site to do this. So far this is more successful that using a .com site in my experience.

I want to market in Austria, France and Italy now too.

Do you recommend separate web sites for each country with .at .fr .it
or just one .eu for all those countries?

Thanks for your help

  • The country domainsn will make it far more targeted (which is what you want to achieve).

Take a look at ebay, google, paypal etc. they all have country specific domains.

country specific if you can get them
or if you can't or money is tight , an EU address.

also to consider, and more important in my view , is your ability to localise (language, support, hosting)

yes exactly like , if eu was the best choice , big , let's say huge ,companies wouldn't use country specific domains , separated ! so i will suggest you go for separating since you want more targeting
