Traffic Thief on Twitter...Serious Concern?

Hi guys,
I signed up to Twitter a few days ago following the recommendation of the Challenge, the online IM course by Ed Dale.
Almost immediatly after my 2nd or 3rd login (I can't remember) I see that someone named TrafficThief" is following me.
Is this some form of hacker looking to steal my stuff?
Has anyone seen him or people like him before? How can he harm me, if at all?
I'm just wondering why a complete stranger would follow me and if anyone here has had some trouble via social networking sites interacting negatively with their online bussiness. Thanks

With the number of threads going up in the last few days I'm not sure if you are serious or not but if you are anyone who follows some one like Ed on twitter tends to get a lot of attention initially from other IMers lookign to sell you products to "help" you on your path to IM success. Traffic Thief sounds like just another of those folk.

How far into the challenge are you?

I'd say you have a ways to go. Learn to use google search - you can install your blog through Fantastico (which is in the cpanel of your hosting) - and there are all sorts of (FREE) tutorials online and vids on YouTube to help.

"I don't know" is not an excuse...substitute "where can I learn learn this" and then do it.

Dont want to be negative dude but you have better chances with Traffic Thief.
They offer a free download trial or rather some free download programs like powerpoint
and tube mogul and camtasia for you to use to blast out sales videos to 27 different
video sites and the likes. trouble is you will have a hard time downloading the tube mogul
trial to test the system out as they ask for your credit card details for a free tube mogul
download or the downloader does and then nothing happens. If you use pixeltube it dont work the same in the sense that it doesnt have same sites or "pipes" in their case as does the video mogul and I still havent figured how to take the ones available from tube mogul and upload them to pixelpipe instead. Any suggestions out there??

The best place for questions like this is on The Challenge Forum.

Since you are on module 2, day 5, why don't you know about putting up your blog? In module 2, day 1 you are told how to get a free WPD (Word Press Direct) account.

And module 2, day 5 tells you how to set up your blog on WPD.

It sounds like you aren't following the action items for each day.

Something you might find useful is to read the comments on the training page for each day (the page that has the links to each training video.)

Since the training will be removed prior to the next Challenge, my standard procedure is to make a folder for each module, and copy the training videos and PDF transcriptions to there. I also copy the text for each training day to a text file including the action items so I can refer back.

For example, this is the section of action steps for module 2, day 5:

Actions For The Day - 1. Setup your new blog using your free WPD account with your micro-niche domain and hosting account. 2. Setup your WPD account details in Market Samurai's Publish Content Module, allowing you to publish direct to your blog from Market Samurai. 3. Publish your first article to your blog

I think the 30 Day Challenge, now The Challenge, is a great way to learn and get started with Internet Marketing! This year was my third time doing it.

If you look at your twitter account, you will see on the left side some suggestions of people to follow since they are following someone you follow. That is probably where they got your account name.

As far as twitter followers, you have to decide if you want a following on Twitter and go from there. Personally, I use twitter to follow people who have something interesting to say without spamming my account.

The challenge forum is pratcially a ghost forum.
It hardly has any people on it except the mods and a few stragglers.
I posted on tehre and got very limited response after several days.
Everything is fine now, I reread the days and watched the vids and got everything sorted out.
I over compicated a few things which I shouldntve, no biggie.

Good job, and glad to hear you got things sorted out!

Yeah, I know about it being kind of a ghost town. It seems that happens a month or two after every challenge.

Even so, there is still a lot of good information there that can be found by searching. Just be aware that search terms less than (I think) six letters are considered too common. Search for "URL" and unless it has been fixed, you'll see what I mean. IIRC, searching for "URL*" (with the wildcard) will work in most cases.

Hi I followed link and got presentation video from traffic thief where he asks you to
download tube mogul, camtasia and powerpoint and then gives you 5 money videos
with products like jamorama guitar lessons, register cleaner fitness program which are
clickbank products you can promote by signing up as an affiliate.
You then copy and paste affiliate link to Tube mogul and create slides with powerpoint
with question and answers from the help pages of the products etc.
Really cool and maybe you already know all this but the problem is its difficult to get the Tube mogul trial version as the downloader site for that wants your bank details even for the trial version and when you then give that to them nada happens which is worrying.
So next step is using pixelpipe but pixelpipe does not have same video sites you can use to blast the videos to the sites and for the likes of me I havent figured how to take the tube mogul video sites and use them on the pixelpipe and if it will allow that.

I wanted to get the hang of system so I am ready when I buy the complete traffic thief but their support lost patience eventually and said they can't help if i don't buy the complete traffic thief. They said i could just use the video sites available on pixelpipe
but they dont look as hot and as many. So I worked out the set up with my low IQ
working on it till 2 am in the morning for a while for nothing.
If you did not care to know all this sorry man but I'm new to forum and don't even know
where the heck the "post a new question" click on whatshisname is on the page.

You're better off contacting me on the Challenge Forum (I can't PM on here not enough posts yet) because if I can't help then some of the mods like Dean or Caro definitely will be able too. GOod luck with the challenge though it works! Another challenger has already reached number one spot in my niche so I know its possible. I just have to stop being lazy.

LOL! No, he won't harm you. Almost all of your followers on Twitter will be random.

Also, don't expect big things from Twitter. It is like getting traffic from a traffic exchange...not targeted...doesn't convert.

Twitter is really only good for indexing, unless you have time to coddle it and actually form relationships, like any social media platform.

A complete stranger is following you on Twitter? That's highly unusual. It almost never happens. I would close that account immediately, and check into a hotel under a fake name. The traffic thief is gonna get you if you don't.

He can't harm you. He wants to get followers and will try to get you to follow him back. If you leave him, he will unfollow you and move on to follow someone else.

Yeah...fake followers happen at the time on Twitter.

Like someone mentioned above, Twitter isn't the best way to spend your time online. As a traffic method and way to generate income it pales in comparison to many other activities you could be doing.

By a little google search I think Traffic Thief is a product by Internet Marketers Mitch Sanders. He won't be stealing from you or anything but that is just a hyped up name of an IM product.

You'll get random people following you on Twitter. A good portion will follow you and then unfollow if you don't follow them back.

I'm mixed about the usefulness of Twitter for me. We've gone the route of collecting a ton of followers, but you end up following and being followed by a bunch of robots...not so cool. I've gone a different route with AdSense Flippers in that I won't necessarily follow you back, only follow people I'm really interested in, and try to point to truly useful, relevant content. We'll see!

    Hey Guys,

Just to followup on this. My product "TheTrafficThief" has nothing to do with Twitter and it does not involve stealing traffic from other people. As Mohammad mentioned, its simply a buzz name for the product.
