[IM Tricks]How to track traffic sources without any affiliate script

If you have a basic traffic tracking script like Google Analytics or Statcounter or Awstats, but the stats do not accurately show the traffic sources, you can use a very simple method, which I discovered by experimentation today.

If you have a URL :
Code:
http://seofreebies.blogspot.com/
And want to track the visitors referred by Warrior Forum,

Just add the part :
Code:
"#warriorforum.com"
to the URL

Making the final URL :
Code:
http://seofreebies.blogspot.com/#warriorforum.com
Now you can find out the traffic source just by looking at the landing page URL.

I am presently using this method to track the visits referred by Warrior Forum, by adding the part : "#wf" to all my URLs.

I hope this will be useful to a few of my fellow Warriors!

    Hi Mate,

You can also do the same by using a ? to replace the #

It works without Google Analytics too, you can use
awstats etc from your control panel...which I find more
accurate because its run from your server.

Google Analytics is not as accurate as anything that
runs on your own hosting account.

    Hope that helps?

    Take care,
